Lost purse
Shame on my wife and I for leaving it behind but shame on the staff member, patron or person(s) who found and/or located her purse less than 30 minutes after we realized we left it behind and reported it missing. If the course is cleaning the carts as they say they are...we told you the exact cart number and location. You should've done the right thing and turned it in. It was a terrible way to end a fantastic day of golf.
Great layout not that far from Calgary (40 minute drive), the really nice thing about it is that you well and truly feel like you are outside the city. Morning times are your best chance to see some great wildlife, from all sorts of birds to muskrats or deer.
The course isn't long but it can be very challenging and to get the best score possible shaping shots both ways really helps.
BEAUTIFUL SETTING & PRETTY DECENT COURSE
I was expecting a little bit more out of Wintergreen after I had heard such good things. The course is in a fantastic part of the greater Calgary area and is surrounded by lots of trees and rolling mountain side.....but the course design just doesn’t take full advantage of where it is situated.
To its credit there were a couple of really awesome holes, 1, 3, 10, & 11 stood out for me.......but all the others were less than memorable. It’s a very simple design that could have been outstanding. The greens, fairways and bunkers were all in good condition.
The practice facility was not the greatest and the range was only about 230 yards, but the restaurant and clubhouse were very nice.....great food!
At the end of the day if you are in the area check it out, but I wouldn’t make a specific trip out of the city to play it......much better courses closer to town.
Wanderlust thru Wintergreen
A friend and I, having golfed on many continents together, joined a Golfnow foursome to enjoy the splendour of WinterGreen. A Perfect Foothills spring afternoon, with true greens, lush moist fairways, gusty winds from the north, minor rain with some hail pellets, abundant traps, wildlife & water holes, played at a good pace. Thoroughly enjoyable Golf day! ;o)
Another fun round
I always enjoy playing Wintergreen. Staff are friendly & helpful, and get you on your way quickly. Course has a fair number of elevated tee boxes so drives are a little deceptive in regards to distance. Most days you'll see wildlife of some sort or other. Fairly wide fairways with some water. Bring out the top guns if hitting from gold or blue on 11 as there is big water to get across. Overall great course Love it !!!
Unreal course for price!
Had an excellent round at wintergreen g & CC! Staff were friends course was in great shape. Tricky green and some tight fairways! Golfed with two other golf nowers and a member of the CC! All were friendly! Already recommended this course to others !
Good Mountain Golf Course
Nice course in the mountain ranges. Lots of trees and water. Would recommend for more advanced golfer. Greens are fast and tricky. All in all a nice but tough course
Excellent facility
Wintergreen provides a challenge from tee to green on every hole. This course is tree lined, so fairways are tight but playable. Greens are in perfect condition with moderate undulation. They roll true and fast. The course layout is spectacular with the elevation changes and thick forest that is hard not enjoy playing a round out here.
Every Shot In The Book
Forgot to take pictures, forgot how to golf or was it the course was tough, play the white if your not a 7 or better. It could have been the spectacular views that made me think I was on a holiday island but only minutes from Calgary. Most holes are designed for lefties, if you slice get it fixed before going here. Worth any price you pay.
Everybody should play wintergreen golf course
I was greeted with nothing but smiles, the stater was very informative about the course and they really wanted me to have a good experience of the course. The golf course was in great shape, I am definitely playing wintergreen again.?
crazy pricing
course is in good spring condition form with the greens being fast and challenging...some winter burn on the fairways and needs a lot of water yet to wake up fully but over all not bad...the driving rage mats are uneven and really throw off your swing as well but not horrible...walking this course is a TOUGH HAUL...doable but watch your blood pressure on the back 9!!!! take it slow and easy..the bunkers are typical Alberta garbage sand and you never know if you're going to hit solid damp or fluffy sand...makes it tougher but also hard on the wrists and back!
the views are stunning looking up on the ski hill though...so all in all a good day but the rates are too high in a depressed economy...sad really! if they had more reasonable pricing along with the rest of the Calgary area ...more people would play...which is good and bad as it was pretty empty for a men's night Thurs afternoon...obviously its more of a rich mans play track for the execs that live in Bragg creek and Calgarys out lying areas than it is a course for the masses...but this is true with far too many courses in Calgary daily.
