American Golf Club Vero Beach - Red Course

Generally speaking, ok. I thought a short course, good practice for irons. Barely any grass on the fairways and the greens could use some help. Playable. I would play again.

This is great little 27 hole setup. My wife is just learning and I take advantage of getting in some much needed less than driver play. The highlight is not much heavy brush, which is very common on development courses. The water hazards are easily avoided and fairways are generally wide. The green conditions vary from course to course and many have bunkers.
We have only had one slow day, yesterday, a group of guys chatting and playing some kind of team play. Just had no etiquette as to course behavior and pace of play. Slow play for someone learning is generally accepted and groups are often invited to play through as it is stated on the the site. The clubhouse is good a full menu available to go with water, soft drinks and alcohol.
Definitely recommend for anyone learning or just practicing.

You can tell that this course was once much nicer than it currently is. Fairways are in horrible shape. Need a lot of work to bring them back to decent condition.

Greens are pretty good, but shaggy, and need rolled badly.
Pro shop and restaurant are pretty good and staff friendly.
If you just want to come out and play some golf and have fun, this is excellent value.

This course is on the comeback trail - the maintenance staff is tackling several obstacles that they inherited from closure and neglect! Every time I play here, it improves! This staff, both on and off course, is here to make your experience good - they are here to help, not hinder! In a land of really expensive Florida during the winter months, this is a really good deal!

Interesting holes., beautiful birds Sandhills cranes and some cators.

Absolutely best bang for buck. Best rates in Indian River County. Staff phenomenal. Greens are very nice. This is one of my favorites!!!

Course was a nice layout, Greens a little worn, fairways in poor condition. Pace of play unacceptable, mostly do to caliber of players.

The course condition were fair. The greens were fuzzy, yet rolled well. The fairways were in poor condition. The layout was simple and a fun course, other than the poor fairways, nothing a little TLC could overcome..

The course has a nice layout, most likely a great place. back in the 70’s or 80’s. Condos have that squared off roof design . Now the greens are slow but in good shape. The fair ways and tees are awful. Full of St. Augustine grass and weeds. The Bermuda is long gone. Tee markers are just colored stakes, and scorecards are wrong. Everything is mowed and clean. The clubhouse is nice and has a good atmosphere . She needs some TLC.

The greens are in good shape. Fairways need alot of work to fill in bare spots.
