About
Situated in the heart of Chestermere, Lakeside Golf Club is conveniently only 20 minutes east of downtown Calgary. The 18-hole layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy. The golf course is gentle enough for high handicappers but it will still give more advanced golfers a chance to use their skills. Water has a prominent presence throughout the golf course, it comes into play on nearly every hole on the front nine. The back nine may have less water, but you'll have to contend with more strategically placed bunkers, like on the par-3 13th. This tough hole features not only a large lake on the right but also an array of bunkers circling the green. In addition to the course, With all of the hazards you'll be facing, it may not be a bad idea to use Lakeside's driving range and putting green to warm up.

What's happened?
I have played the Lakeview course for years and have enjoyed it very much but this year the course conditions seem to have deteriorated. The greens were in good shape but the fairways and areas around the fairways were dried out and bare in spots. And there were very few specials this year price-wise.
As a senior on a fixed income, I searched out other courses and played there instead of Lakeview. Sort of doesn't make sense to me, course conditions aren't as well maintained and then you charge more money?

Excellent day which started with friendly professional staff Nicely paced course monitored by a pleasant marshal. We were joined by a couple of members who were truly a pleasure to golf with.

Decent for the Price
The course is in decent shape but the pace of play was slow as we were constantly waiting because of the groups ahead of us. The marshal kept asking us to pick it up even though we had to wait at each tee box for the groups ahead of us.
They also ran out of hot dogs and sandwiches which made the experience less enjoyable.

Perfect day, we played with a nice father son couple, had a few laughs and a few pars, definitely will be back if they can keep the pace of play the way it was today.

Brutally slow
Great course but the pace of play was exceptionally slow. 4 1/2 hours for the round.

The longest 18 holes of my life
Course overall is great, loved playing it. During this round it took 5.5 hours to complete the 18 holes, it wasn’t busy. At one point there were 5 groups on one hole. Called the Marshall to investigate, they never came. With the price increases this year and that deplorable pace of play, rather go to other courses.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course.
