Located in Drumheller, Dinosaur Trail Golf & Country Club is situated in the heart of the Badlands. The course's wooded terrain provides a striking contrast to the surrounding desert-like landscape. Jagged hills sprinkled with ancient boulders and cacti provide a setting that is truly unique. The site is home to dinosaur bone beds that date back 75 million years, which is where the club gets its name. The golf course was carefully constructed around these beds and the 11th hole was even reconfigured so as not to disturb the possible dinosaur skeletons embedded in the hillside. The layout has a player-friendly front nine, which you'll want to take advantage of because the back nine is much more challenging. Dinosaur Trail's final nine holes are even known for being one of the area's toughest closing nines.

Golf in the Badlands

Always an enjoyable course to play but also more than a little frustrating when you're not hitting the ball well. Fairways on the back nine are built on plateaus for the most part and balls are frequently lost if you miss the fairway. No matter what though, don't miss a chance to play here as the course is very unique on the newer back nine.

two different nines

The front nine was traditional type course with large trees etc, the back nine had ravines and very much target golf. A must play a second time.

Amazing Views! Incredibly hard back 9!

What a course. Front 9 lush, green and not to difficult to play. With all the talk about the back 9 though we couldn't wait to get back there. All I can say is WOW! I have been to Drumheller many times and even remember exploring this area as a kid while visiting the museum. Well now it's a golf course and what a challenge it is. We, as most people probably do lost many balls back there but who cares. The challenge was worth it and the odd few shots that did make it across the coulee's made our day. The sun was shining and beverages were cold. Couldn't ask for a better experience. Be sure to check out GolfNow's Hot Deals before booking. Paid $32/person for 18 holes including cart on a Long Weekend. Hard to beat that!

Good

Enjoyed the course. The back 9 is a challenging target golf but make sure it's a calm day. We were unfortunate to tackle this course on a 70km wind day and made it almost impossible. Scenic and if you like a challenge you will enjoy this course

Target golf at its best!!!!

Dinosaur Trail was a terrific time and a real challenge for target golf on the back.
Front nine..nicely maintained.pretty flat and no extreme hazards. Was wondering why I had bothered to take a cart.....
Then the back nine..wow...a cart is definitely needed and I'm extremely fit and generally always walk. Target golf at its best. Breathtaking views of the badlands. Loved the different elevations and blind shots..haha..ball retriever not long enough for the coulees. Tip.. Bring extra balls.. Looking forward to challenging myself again now that I've actually had a chance to play the back nine. I will certainly make different golf club selection. Make sure your 3 wood and hybrids are working for you. Really happy to see the friendly cart girl to drown my sorrows after a number of misplaced hits.
Excellent weather and a wonderful day trip from Calgary . Could just imagine dinosaurs roaming around.. Thanks.

This is unique eighteen hole course is like two courses in one, front nine winds through the river valley while the back goes through the badlands.

Course was in excellent condition. Front nine is flat, wide, and open-a great warmup for the back nine.
The back nine winds through the natural setting of the badlands and is a challenge for the best golfer.
I loved the course and highly recommend it. Staff was welcoming and friendly.

Two courses in one.

An easy front nine warms you up for the challenging back 9. If you can't stay on the fairway or play target golf on the back 9, good luck finding your ball.

2 different 9 holes

If you dont have your game in shape by the 9th hole, you might be in trouble,

I like what they are doing out with this course, year after year I see improvements on the track,

the only downside i feel to this course is two 9 holes are completely different
