Course was soaked
Course was very wet but there is nothing they can do about it. I am not a huge fan of this course. too many wierd holes.
Worth the drive !
Friendly and helpful staff to get you started and the course was in good shape very well laid out and lots of fun we really enjoyed the round!
Cheap disappointing round
I was pretty disappointed about the tee boxes Super long length hard to even tee off and the course maintenance was not good. Overall not worth the drive out of the city. Will not play this course again.
Another challenge
It was nice day with sunshine, there's some drain bad spot however except that everything was great. Shot wasn't bad and green was a little bit wet but couldn't distract my play... I also appreciate to the owner and pro shop staff about getting back my iron. I was worried about for getting the score after lost it... But I got from them. Thanks again for nice working. See you again !!
Great little track
This is a great little track with lots of doglegs that got me on the 1st time golfing here. With a little more knowledge now there are some that can be taken on and some that need to be played a little smarter. Staff was awesome and the course was like most north of highway 16 this year WET. I will definitely play this course again a few times while I’m up here working.
Great fun
There was lots of open fairways. The back 9is much harder with longer grass. The greens are fast. Best ever. Lots of standing water due to the heavy frequent rain.
Hidden Gem Worth the Drive and Cost
This course is a hidden gem. Front nine is perfect for beginner golfers, but also acts as a great warmup for thr challenging back. Hole 12 is one of the most picturesque and skill testing holes I've ever played. The staff are friendly, the greens are immaculate, and the feeling of being out in the middle of nowhere makes it worth the drive every time. Been playing here for twenty years and it never gets old. For the price its a bargain compared to golfing in the city.
Interesting course with good greens
The course has two distinctly different 9's The front is shorter and easier and back is long and tricky. The 12th hole is a true test of grit as a 600 yard+ par 5. You have to clear a ravine at 210 yards then either clear water at 200 to leave a makeable 3rd shot to a tricky green or lay up short and hit a long wood in. Some memorable holes with a premium for staying in the fairways. Greens were very good and true. Bunkers good with nice sand. Tees and cart paths could do with a little attention but great value for money and will visit again for sure.
Great course
One of the best back nines in the area. Not many people play here and I don't know why that is happening but this place is very nice. Always liked this course
Nice course in a country setting located within lakeside subdvision.
I like this course as it's playable for novice and also very good golfers. The back nine is more challenging than front nine. No homes surrounding the fairways. Fairways are firm so you'll feel like a golf god hitting drives and gaining more roll and yardage than you normally would. My only complaint would be the rock hard tee boxes. Otherwise, the fairways and greens are well maintained
The back 9 has a lot of tree lined fairways and the leaves are falling off the trees. I knew this prior to booking and knew I would loose a few balls, so not a show stopper for me. Lost 4 balls in the trees but found some also. A personal moment for me was on the tee box of the 12th hole on a beautiful sunny September day.
As most Edmonton courses are this year the course was in great shape with beautiful greens and thick thick roughs
We had a very nice quiet round, the course was in great shape, but still clearly a rural course. Some signage was missing or at least hard to find, particularly getting from the 9th to the 10th hole. The 18th is a spectacular hole with trees and water both coming significantly into effect. Par is a very good score on this hole.
In all it was worth the 75 minute trip out there, a very pleasant discovery west of town.
Heavy dew on all greens ... Terrible to putt.
We played at
9:30am and not one green was mowed which made putting difficult .
It is worth to try this one out
It is approximately one hour drive from Edmonton to Silver Sands. However you will not be disappointed after a round of golf. The layout of the holes are excellent and you will come across few blind holes, water hazards, narrow fairways and large sand/grass bunkers placed strategically. My favorite holes are # 12 (Par 5, 600yd(white), - Barranca Ravine) and # 13 (par 3, 139yd(White), Beautiful baby). We are very pleased to have found this hidden jewel only one hour away from home. I definitely visit this course in coming years.
great design, terrible maintenance of greens
Excellently designed course with tough water and sand placement. Greens were aerated and very poorly maintained. Play up to greens was challenging and fun. Greens were very disappointing.
good challenge
Not bad but had to play front nine twice as they were over seeding the back nine, met some new people from USA. Would play again
Back nine from blues over 3500 is a huge test...bunkers are great but greens and fairways are just average but as the course is very remote and reason
average course quite remote so probably get fair value for money paid.
