Lacombe Golf and Country Club

About
Lacombe Golf & Country Club opened in 1925, but the site has roots in golf that date back even further to 1910 when golfers would use the former cow and sheep pasture to hit balls. It has undergone many changes over the years but the layout still retains its classic character. The golf course is situated along the PEII, midway between Calgary and Edmonton. The par-71 layout is routed through dense groves of mature, towering trees. They loom above the fairways and provide a backdrop for nearly every hole. When the trees are combined with the golf course's small, undulating greens, the layout becomes a true test of your accuracy. In addition to the golf course, Lacombe also offers a driving range and a practice putting green with a bunker.

the course played somewhat difficult, which was good,
the greens rolled OK, but were patchy brown, no biggy tho !!
we played on a Sunday, a hot Sunday and it was BUSY due to poor weather in prior weeks, so PLAY was unusually slow !!
overall, it was good and we will be back, always nice to get range balls included too !!

Poor staffing
Finished my front 9 in a 1hr 45 got to the back nine waited 45 minutes on one hole call to see if they could send someone out to check on the group's in front was told they dont have staff that day as it was a Saturday of a long weekend my round turned into 5hr 30min was an joke. Had people driving up fairways as we were teeing off had to wait. One staff there for the whole day. Pretty sad for a weekend that is busy with people and no Marshall to check on course play.

nice layout
Lots of up and down. We walked and enjoyed the course but there is lots of hilly terrain.

Wonderful Deal - great course
Lacombe G&CC is a GREAT course and wonderful, friendly staff. The deal we got on Golf Now was simply the icing on the cake! The course was in very good shape and they work hard to maintain good conditions and pace of play. We will definitely continue to support this course!

Sand traps
Sand traps are skirted with plywood. If your ball is near the edge you cannot play it. The greens have a lot of winter kill as do the fairways.

Course has had significant winter kill greens are pathetic. Nobody in our foursome enjoyed Lacombe and all of us have played before.
