Osprey/Heron at Okeeheelee Golf Course
About
With a name meaning 'quiet waters' in the Seminole language, Okeeheelee Golf Course is situated amidst lush, rolling hills that overlook the sparkling waters of Clear Lake. There are 27 championship holes that are divided into three nines and can be played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Osprey, Heron, and Eagle nines are named after the various wildlife that can be seen throughout. Each golf course offers a different set of challenges and scenery. Okeeheelee's Osprey/Heron Course features a variety of elevation changes. There are scenic views from the elevated greens but don't become too distracted since there are many elements to contend with including towering trees, strategically placed bunkers, and deep rough lining the fairways. There are also plenty of water hazards coming into play.

beatiful course but the green are slow in down slope and the ball stopped often
it explains the average rating for the course but you can
improve this,I'am sure
Nice track, great shape, greens are hard and hard to score on
First time playing here and played the Blues. Came out the gate strong with back back birdies, then I ran into the elevated sculptured greens and struggled, had 4 doubles on the day and hit the green every time. The greens are very hard, do not hold well and roll off the green into a deep waste area, where the grass is very tight and hear to hit a flop. But overall the course is a great track, wonderful condition, just need to know the layout and I was a first time player so it go a bit frustrating at times. Still shot 83 and had a good day, playing as a single with 3 other singles.
Very friendly and accommodating staff.Great value for such a nice golf course
Nice Find
Was a single and hooked up with three players and got out earlier than scheduled…the greens were in great shape…course layout was challenging….water and doglegs on almost every hole so choose your clubs wisely….great practice facilities…driving range, putting greens and sand bunkers to work on your game before and after your round. Will play again now that I know what they offer.
Very nice, great value
Course was in great shape, staff very friendly. Pace of place was 4.5, so a little slow but not terrible.
Golf now hot deal was the way to go.
Great course but a little pricey
Everything was very good...just a little pricey for out of state players
Great course
Our daughter lives very near this course and when we visit, we’ve enjoyed this course every time. It’s county owned and was in great shape, especially for this late in their snowbird season! Lots of wildlife, tons of iguanas, lots of sand and a good portion of water. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Of course, if you’re a twosome they’ll pair you up with another twosome, as with most course’s here, I’m a newby player and super nervous with strangers watching me! Everyone that we’ve been paired with were very nice and not critical of my skills!
Okeeheelee is in the best shape!
Okeeheelee is in perfect shape! You do have to get an early tee time because it gets slow with mid morning starts,
Rangers and head starters do a great job consolidating. No twosomes between foursomes thank god. The course has beautiful tee vistas and gorgeous open water views.
3 very different 9 holes. Playing here more and more lately.
Efficient and Challenging
With 27 holes, the team does a good job of getting golfers organized and keeping up with any on course delays/issues. Course was in great shape. Huge, challenging greens.
Worst staff in S Florida!
Lost our reservation, put us out 45 min after our original tee time and the front nine took 2 hours and 45 min. Save yourself the pain and the money to play here. Lots of better choices in the area with better staff that value your business.
Rained out and can't get a refund or raincheck. Not the courses fault. I blame GOLFNOW. Can I get some assistance please?
9 holes then rained out. Can't reach GolfNow like the course said I had to. Couldnt just give me a raincheck for 9. Said I have to contact GolfNow...GOOD LUCK! Maybe they'll read this review, if not, I'll never use this app again!
