Osprey/Heron at Okeeheelee Golf Course
About
With a name meaning 'quiet waters' in the Seminole language, Okeeheelee Golf Course is situated amidst lush, rolling hills that overlook the sparkling waters of Clear Lake. There are 27 championship holes that are divided into three nines and can be played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Osprey, Heron, and Eagle nines are named after the various wildlife that can be seen throughout. Each golf course offers a different set of challenges and scenery. Okeeheelee's Osprey/Heron Course features a variety of elevation changes. There are scenic views from the elevated greens but don't become too distracted since there are many elements to contend with including towering trees, strategically placed bunkers, and deep rough lining the fairways. There are also plenty of water hazards coming into play.

As always this course is one of my favorite, the staff are so nice cart girl are beautiful and respectful, can’t wait to play this course again.
Afternoon golf
Staff very helpful. Course in good condition. Will be back’
Great course, slow play
I love this course and the hot deal was too good to pass up. Unfortunately on a Wednesday at 3 it was extremely backed up. We said something to the Marshall and basically told us there was someone on every hole and nothing he could do. By the time we made it to hole 12, we just left.
NOT SO HIDDEN OF A GEM!
This course is probably the best public course in West Palm Beach (excluding some semi private/members courses open to the public at times.) if you don’t play this course because of a past experience or old rumors you need to give it another try. Not the same course as it was 4-5 years ago. Very challenging course with some twisting fairways, rolling hills, both sand and water, bottled neck fairways with water, doglegs, etc. This course has it all! Plus it is in gorgeous summer shape right now! I have advice for those ready to play here. First, if you want to play 18, make a tee time before 3pm. Okeeheelee already has a big fan base. And they all come at different skill levels. The course player use and pace of play can be an issue. And this is alway a coin toss at any course. But this is a hard course to complete 18 after 4pm. It can be done, with the right players, pace, and weather. Once “season” is in full effect this course is nearly impossible to get on without a time tee (but still can done). And as a public course they always do their best to get you on! My first advice! BOOK A TEE TIME! For a full 18, the earlier the better!
Second bit of advice! Play this course more than once or with someone who plays it all the time. If you play this course with all newbies your first round may be frustrating. Again this can be a challenging course. Once you understand the course it is very rewarding and fun to play. Knowing how to manage the course, I drop 14 strokes from the first time to the second time I played it!
Please don’t take anything I said negatively. I LOVE THIS COURSE. Just some friendly advice to prepare yourself for a great day of golf.
Hot day
Course was in really great condition.
....fairways are rolling long and greens rolling true.
My kind of golf.!
Second time playing Still impressed
Incredible conditions and challenge for a public course. Pace was a little slow for a Wednesday
Great golf experience
Great valve, really enjoyed the golf coouse. The greens were recently aerated but other than that the course is in great condition.
Nice and good
Really really nice. And good. Really nice and good.
Nice course but super slow
Here now. Course is in great condition. Pace is super slow we are 3/4 of the way through and looking at a 5-hour round. It's a shame because it's a nice course.
