Heron/Eagle at Okeeheelee Golf Course
About
Okeeheelee Golf Course boasts 27 scenic holes of championship golf. The holes are divided into three nine-hole courses that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. Named after the wildlife that inhabit the course, the Osprey, Heron, and Eagle share the same beautiful landscape but each one offers a different set of challenges. Okeeheelee means 'quite waters, ' a name that comes from the tranquil views that stretch to Clear Lake. The Heron/Eagle golf course will test your target golf skills. The course features elevated greens surrounded by bunkers and fairways lined with tall trees and deep rough. It is a challenging but fair test that is still player-friendly enough for a range of skill levels. With three different course options there is plenty of variety, but the Okeeheelee golf courses are accessible as well with five sets of tees each

Worth The Trip
Course is almost an hour from my house in south Broward but worth the trip. Love courses like this and Osprey Point where there aren't beat up condos surrounding it. Can't rate the greens since they had been aerated not long ago so they were a little bumpy with some rough patches, especially hole #2 on Eagle, short par 3. Overall layout is fantastic. Some short easy par 4's mixed in with some tough ones. Bev cart girl was very friendly. Great value for the money. Will go back when greens have come back in totally.
All was excellent except the starter was close to be very impolite. Very sarcastic. No need for that when you serve the public.
Amazing conditions
This course is in immaculate condition despite the heavy traffic it gets, which goes to tell you that it's all about the TLC its staff gives it. I had an early tee time, and was paired with guys that played at a decent pace, so the round lasted less than four hours, which is unheard of at Okeeheelee. I played the Eagle and Osprey. The eagle is a beast of a challenge, the Osprey was a little more forgiving but still challenging. I'm glad my game was on point which made for a really enjoyable round. For a short hitter like me, with drives averaging between 220-240 yards, the gold tees are a perfect challenge. The tee boxes were perfect, nice and flat and perfectly trimmed with good grass. The fairways were in great shape, and last but not least the greens were immaculate and rolled pretty true and fast. If you want to play at a course with a great layout, in excellent condition, and that's affordable, then look no further.
Great course, great people
Sunday, beautiful weather, full tee sheet and still the starter found me - a single - a slot. 3 nines helps but the starter made it happen. All fairways are in super shape, even after several rainy days. The green are fast but run true. A few idiots drove thru wet areas even after we yelled, but the rangers are ucyclenarmed so what can you do!
REO
Awesome, beautifully maintained, professionally operated!
They always overbook and the pace of play is very slow, there as a wait at ea tee, 5-10 min sometimes more.
What a course
Okeeheelee is beautiful and the course is awesome. I love the layout and the degree of difficulty is your choice between 5 tees. The new superintendent has made this course a great venue for all. The fairways are immaculate and the greens are pure and roll very nicely.
Several greens can be challenging depending upon the pen placements, but still fair.
3 championship courses are enough to satisfy my appetite so I have made Okeeheelee my home course.
Great staff and facilities with food and drinks and a bucket of golf balls on the driving range or maybe fine-tuning your putting on a massive and well-maintained practice green, ENJOY!
It's time for your next round, the greens are back! Thanks for taking the trip up from Broward. Since you mentioned that you also play Osprey Point (another member of the Palm Beach County Golf group) we'd suggest you look into our Frequent Player Card program. The FPC card will save you some money, which hopefully makes the drive a little easier to swallow. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
