The Red Deer River encloses River Bend Golf Course, wrapping around the course and 420 acres of mature forests. The location along the river bottom flatland provides a peacefully secluded setting that is ideal for a round of golf. On some holes you'll find towering trees tightly lining the fairways while other holes are hillier and more open, putting them at the mercy of the winds. No matter what hole you're playing though, the design places a premium on accuracy. Two massive lakes as well as a few smaller ponds come into play on a total of 10 holes. In addition to the golf course, River Bend G.C. also boasts a nine-hole "mini links" course, a par-27 layout that is gentle enough for juniors. There's also a driving range with target greens and a practice bunker.

Always a treat

A very fair and well-maintained course. Definitely the best course in Red Deer (that allows anybody to play there). There's a reason why so many big-name tournaments are held there, lots of challenge with water and trees, but still a very fair challenge. Wildlife can definitely be seen here, have spotted a mom and baby moose and groups of deer.
Great course, but dealing with the pro-shop staff is almost always a depressing experience. Just no enthusiasm at all.

for the price, this very well could be the very best municipal golf course in alberta

from the general manager to the part time employees, this golf course runs and looks like a country club, but the price of a "muni", if there's is going to be one course to golf in central alberta, this is a must golf ..... greens are large and are maintained to pga standards .... also their food is not your typical pub style but mouth watering fare fit for a king/queen and again prices so low that you don't have to share , great selection on tap and also a wine list copied from the country club, but all affordable .... cheers .... one month left to make a tee time ....
