Sundre Golf Club

It's amazing how a town with a population of 3,000 can be home to a course of this caliber. Just beyond the large paved parking lot and gated entrance golfers will find a large clubhouse with a full-service restaurant and well-stocked pro shop.
A friendly and expedient check in with the pro shop and I was quickly behind the wheel of one of their Yamaha golf carts and off to the driving range to exercise every stick in the bag except driver.

Attention to detail is evident throughout the course. The cart paths are paved, fairways are nicely framed with mature spruce trees, the rough is forgiving and if by chance your ball finds its way into the trees overhanging tree limbs are non-existent allowing you a clean swing to get back into play. The greens complexes are fair sized and rolled consistently. Judicious use of water hazards and bunkering add to a course already loaded with natural beauty.

With great golf, food and service, a day at Sundre Golf Club adds up to an affordable opportunity for the traveling golfer as well as the locals.

Sundre GC

Comfortably situated within minutes of downtown, this 18 hole gem offers traditional golf amenities one would expect in a championship venue.

The course plays from 5097 to 6778 yards, so it pretty much will accommodate golfers of every level. With a varied mix of par 3's, 4's and 5's, smart bunker placement, towering pine trees lining well groomed fairways and nine ponds scattered through the property. Any casual round of golf can be a test, no matter how seasoned a player you are and finding the right combination of distance and control is a pre-requisite for scoring well at Sundre.

I've only played it once but it's not hard to see that the Sundre Golf Club has made a consistent commitment to course conditioning. Outstanding course conditions and friendly service made this casual round memorable.

A real gem

This is one of the best courses I have played on in Alberta. Very good condition with a wide variety of holes. Lots of trees, bunkers, and water make this a very challenging layout. Well worth the drive from Calgary or Edmonton.

Great place to golf

This is one of the best facilities Central Alberta has to offer. A top notch championship course that has amazing conditions. The greens are challenging but very fun to play. This is always a favourite of mine as it is very walkable and rewards good shots. The course is expensive but is worth the price to play at least once.
Couple holes have strategically placed trees to ramp up the difficulty but overall the course is a must play for the avid golfer.

We will be back!

This is one of the nicest courses this area has to offer and well worth the drive. The course is in pristine condition. The landscaping is beautiful, the fairways are great and the greens fast and tricky. The course is tree lined but the underbrush has been cleared away with bark mulch under the trees giving you a chance to save an errant shot. . It should appeal to all levels of golf. The staff was friendly and the food in the club house was very good and also very reasonably priced.
