Balfour Golf Club
About
Balfour Golf Club is laid across a stretch of grassy meadows and rolling hills that sit right along the shores of Kootenay Lake. Perched atop a plateau above the Balfour Ferry Landing, the course tumbles through the Purcell Mountains, providing a rugged terrain with plenty of interesting elevation changes. The golf course winds through dense forests of pine, birch, and Douglas fir trees. The nine-hole layout boasts beautifully sculpted fairways that are wide and lined with trees and contoured greens that are very fast. Water hazards come into play on two holes. The course has the ideal level of challenge while still maintaining playability for players of all skill levels. There is an additional set of tees in case golfers choose to play Balfour Golf Club as an 18-hole round.

Wow, what scenery!
I've golfed here many times and still find it very challenging. The views are great and it's never been too busy that you have to rush.
Nice mix of new and old course design
This course orignally was a nine hole course with the addition of the back nine coming fairly recently. They have done a great job with utilizing the land that they have and have succeded in expanding the course to a full 18 holes. The only down side to this is right after the turn on holes 10 and 11 they had to climb and decend an extremely steep hill to fit all nine holes in. The downside being that this makes for some strange holes but not so much that it runs the playabilty of the course. Overall the course was in great shape and woud recomend this to anyone of average skill level to play.
