New Ownership
It’s been a few years since I played this par 3 course and I’m happy I returned.
New ownership has seen the transformation of the driving range, pro shop and maybe the best greens around! Highly recommend, playing this challenging fun course when you’re in the area.
stay focused
Despite the shortness of this course, your average golfer better not let their guard down. Narrow holes means accuracy is a must. Too easy to watch an errant shot sail OB never to be seen again. Except for a couple of greens in rough shape, most greens are a true test with easy to moderate difficulty. Sand bunkers are more like dirt bunkers which require a more aggressive swing. An overalll pleasant two hours working the irons.
Like Magnum... it's not ready
The course is under new management so we thought we'd give it a try. Staff are friendly. As for the course, they are trying to improve things but it is still in much need of repair. The ground was so hard at most t-boxes that you couldn't push your tee in. The greens were rough... with some dry ones looking like the lunar surface, while a couple along the west side of the course being so soft your tee shot literally sinks into the green, with no bounce... looks like someone stepped on you ball. A shallow shot ball will bounce out of a bunker. Its called an exec par 3, but it's a really short course... and with a few nicer par 3's in the area it will have a hard time competing. Makes me wonder if it would be more successful, redesigned as a long-hole 9 hole course? I wouldn't recommend it, unfortunately.
coming along
they are working to improve the course since taking over. the rough patches of upgrades in progress don't bother me, as it is future improvements. good warm up round or learning course
It's coming around nicely!!
Course is improving steadily. New owners are friendly and working hard at providing a great experience for all golfers and the community.
Beginners
Cheam has a decent driving range to practice at. The course itself is for beginners. I have played it several times when I'm with friends that don't play much or not at all.
Lots of people walk-in the course, which slows the game down.
Nothing special when it comes to maintenance of the course. They cut grass, have tee, boxes and greens.
Great for kids as well. The short holes can build confidence with all ages.
Love this course
Our group of six play this course every week. It has a few tricky areas, but we look forward to the challenge each week. We always play 18 holes. Nice course to walk, but also have carts available.
Since new management this spring, they are working at improving the greens and doing a great job.
They restaurant also is seeing improvements and has good quality food choices.
Short and sweet
Mostly Par 3's , Greens werent in the best shape, but good enough. Some tricky holes, lots of hazards to play around. Overall not bad. Would play here again if I was playing alone.
Great for quick game after work
Course in good shape , not very busy during the week blasted out 18 holes in 2 hours
humbling
As a semi exec course it offers a good short game challenge for golfers. Small greens, odd distances bring elements into a game that a typical course Par 72 fails to provide. Try it, it may humble you more than you think.
Good walking course
We enjoy playing this course. We feel it is great value and perfect to work on our short game. We will play it again and would recommend it to our family and friends.
Great for those that do not hit long.
Course is in better shape than last year. Could use some more rakes for sandtraps and ball washers.
Best value for the money
Fridays you get 18 holes of golf and two slider burgers with fries for $14.95. And the golf course is in excellent condition. It is an executive course so no need for a driver. But you have to be accurate to score well!
Bargain golf for bargain course,
good practice for short game. Better than last year, but course could still use some attention.
