Due to its immaculately maintained greens, Cranbook Golf Club is one of the most highly rated public courses in the area. It is also lucky enough to receive the most hours of sunshine in all of British Columbia. These are the two main factors in spurring the course's loyal following. The mature parkland layout is tough but also beautiful with towering evergreens framing the view of each hole. Cranbook Golf Club's most challenging features of the layout are the undulating fairways that are lined with trees. The greens are large and fast and many of the holes are tight but there are a few that are more open. The signature hole is the par-4 12th, which first requires a tee shot to an uphill dogleg fairway and then an approach shot that clears the grass before the well bunkered green.

Good course

I was a member here for several years. It's a solid course, nothing tricked out and no strange holes. Conditions are usually pretty good. Greens are speedy and putt true. Only complaint is that the bunkers don't have much sand, but they are still well kept. The staff here are great, and the restaurant is really good. This course makes for a nice reprieve after playing Shadow Mountain, Wildstone and Trickle Creek on your golf trip.

Great course

Great course for all types of golfers. Not over challenging and course was in pretty good shape. pretty good fairways and nothing too challenging around the greens. It was a quick round and we finished 30 minutes ahead of time.. It was during the extreme heat wave so perhaps that may have contributed to the pace pf play. Course can be walked and i might even recommend it if your are able to do so as the fairways are very bumpy when riding in a cart. Just the way the course is I reckon.. Greens roll fairly true and even when you think there is a small break in the green, quite often it goes straight. Enjoyed the course, and restaurant was pretty good.

Reasonable value for overall experience

Traveling as part of a larger group, we choose to stop and play at Cranbrook because of a coupon with the golf Canada card. Overall, the round cost each of us $50, and for that amount it was a great deal.
Large practice putting green right outside the clubhouse, small chipping area with club balls and a driving range with plenty of stalls. The staff were highly approachable, patient and well mannered. The pro shop is fully stocked but not cluttered. The food was great and the waitress had great information to help us find a good beer after our round.
The course was fair but challenging. Fairways were in great shape, dry but soft. No major gouges or soft spots. The tee boxes and greens were in rougher shape, definitely needing more care and protection over the winter.

I would definitely return and play this course again.

Nice course

Nice course for the money but painfully slow. No Marshall out there looking after pace of play. So slow I was ready to walk off the course.
