Delta Golf Club
About
Formerly the site of a cedar swamp, Delta Golf Club was covered in blackberry bushes when it was being developed in 1971. The golf course was completed in a record 64 days and opened officially in 1975. Since then, the course has garnered a faithful following due to its player-friendly layout featuring wide-open fairways and immense, approachable greens. The club is also known for its friendly atmosphere and the affordable green fees. The masters-length layout has an interesting variety of holes with a good mix of par 3s, 4s and 5s. There are trees dotting the golf course, especially along the fairways, and strategically placed bunkers, both of which require accurate shot making. Putting on the fast greens also requires some skill. Delta Golf Club is made even more challenging by the water hazards that come into play throughout.

This course is in a low-lying area called Burns Bog. It plays fine in dry weather but with all the rain recently it was very soggy. Difficult to put a clean hit on the ball.
delta golf course
Poor condition. Not awful. It's been dry for weeks though. Course layout is awful now. Unnessesary distance between holes. I think new management changed what hole is what number. Nobodys gps worked. No beverage cart. Nobody there though played in 3 hrs. Payed 20 canadian on golf now hot deals. Whoudnt pay a dollar more.
Smooth Greens Make the Day
Delta Golf Club has been a big part of our neighborhood since the 1970’s, and it has a very good following due to its very reasonable fees and approachable greens, nice and wide without much to distract. The staff are friendly and most have been here for a long while, we love it on any Sunday afternoon as an excuse to get together!
Course is in great condition. Shot my best round ever today due to the course condition. Mosquito is a big problem due to all the still water (this used to be a swamp). We are not in fall season yet but leaves are all over the rough and not cleared which makes finding balls in the rough extremely hard. Only small peeve was one of my shots landed under a tree where the grounds crew were taking a quick break (I was well within the hole boundaries). They did not bother moving and I had to fish out the ball from under their carts. More education to the crew would definitely help.
Nice Day on the Course
Overall, the course was in good shape, or at least better than what others have stated in recent months. Tee boxes still need some work, but fairways, rough, and greens were good. Layout Is strange (you’d get lost between some of the holes if you didn’t know where to go), and pace of play could have been better, but for the hot deal price, I have no complaints!
Confusing course layout
The course layout from tee to tee is really confusing for playing there at the first time. I got a hot deal from golfnow for my tee time which was still a great deal, but would not recommend paying the full price for a tee time.
Great value
This course is a great practice course and is fun for all skill levels.
Usually can get a round in about 4 hours.
Very little terrain change through out the course and 7 par 3's. Good course for those starting the game and those looking to improve their short game. Most greens in below satisfactory shape. Regular price green fees are a bit steep for this course.
Not in great shape
First time playing this course. I would not recommend this course at the present time. The course conditions were very poor. The tee boxes were horrific - looks like they have not been upgraded in years. The fairways were very poor - they were not groomed - very rough and needed cutting. The only area that met standards were the greens. They were in the most part fairly groomed. A few were rough - causing the ball to bounce but the greens were the only part of the course that were acceptable. Also they wanted $25 for a single to use a cart - which is outrageous for this course. The signage on the course was horrible - you did not know where the next tee was located. If the owners could spend a little money upgrading this course it may become acceptable but in the meantime - it is not a recommended course.
Love the total yardage
I like how the total yardage is between an executive course and a full length course. Great for someone like me that is sick of playing executive courses around town but absolutely murdered on a full course. Well kept greens but some of the fairways could use a further trimming down as its quite similar to the rough. Great value for the money though. Had a hot deal for 2 players and rented a golf buggy for 66 bucks. It's not terribly busy as compared to other golf courses as well.
Hit bottom, now early in recovery.
Yes it was a cow pasture and they had no crews. Played in May at its worst and swore i wouldn't come back. But tried it again in early June when I found a $12 GN Hot Deal and saw improvements plus actual crews all over the course. Came back a few more times and found it better and better every day. Not saying this is Pebble Beach but the restoration is paying off. Greens, most tee boxes and fairways resemble a real golf course again but the rough is still ridiculous. At least walking in circles looking for my ball adds to my step count on the fitness tracker. Pro shop staff are friendly, notably Chris in the mornings. Maintenance workers are usually respectful of shot takers and are getting a lot done. And the price is right.
Fathers Day Golf
Delta is an average course at a good value. If you are out for a fun day with friends to get some exercise and enjoy company of others this is a good place to go. As for a golfers challenge, thee are better choices.
I did not book this Tee Time. I phoned the golf course when I received the email to confirm the tee time they said a mistake was made and I wouldn't be charged, however I checked my Visa statement and I was charged the booking fee. please reverse this fee. U believe this was a fraudulent booking. please investigate and get back to me. .
The course has gone downhill big time
This used to be one of favourite courses and we have played it multiple times for the past several years. We won’t play it again unless the owners hire staff to maintain the course. The greens were almost like secondary rough, only worse, because they had ridges of longer grass and clumps of even longer grass. The first cut of rough was ankle deep in places - there was no second cut. The bunkers were full of weeds. We lost balls on fairways occasionally and regularly in the “first and second cuts”. Other golfers behind us expressed dismay over the state of the course for the same reason - one said he had lost two balls on the fairway. On the plus side, the greens are finally coming back -two months ago they were almost unplayable.
Upkeep of the course very poor
Fairways were not cut properly - ridges of grass more than fairway length in the middle of the fairway, first cut of rough up to 4 - 6 inches deep with parts higher and lower, lots of time spent looking for balls in the deep first(?) cut, a lot of mower residue on the fairways which made it difficult to find balls, greens have improved somewhat from our visit earlier this year, but are still not great. This course was one of our favourites before this, year. Our foursome will not return this year and we will be recommending others avoid the course as well. Hopefully the course will get their act together by next year.
