Cowichan in the past has been a little soggy in spots but right now the course is in great shape !!!!

Great day - easy course!!
Great golf couse / excellent greens
This is a challenging 18 holes of golf with excellent greens on every hole.
Not overly long but a very good test of golf.
Mother's Day 9
Another terrific round at Cowichan G.C. Stormin' Norman and the crew have a top notch facility for all players. My 14 year old son can play with the same level as me without frustration as you can recover from nearly every placement.
Definitely a course worth taking the trip!

First round in three years. course is in great shape, and staff is very accommodating. As usual, it is never easy getting the ball in the hole regularly...
A pleasant and visually great course
We had a balmy 20 C and sunshine in late October. We were still getting considerable roll on the fairways and the greens were rolling true and receptive.
The trees lining the fairways were in full autumn colours and very vibrant.
Cowichan golf course
A fun track to play. Good course to play in the rain, fairways stay dry. Staff was friendly. Definelty will play again in the future
no mosquitoes today
This course is known for people getting bitten all year round by mosquitoes,but today we only saw one.
We were put out as a twosome & two old guys were hitting off the 1st tee before we hit our second shot. We got to the 2nd tee-off & had to wait for the group ahead & the 2 behind us came up to the forward tee(wife was waiting to hit)& told us they were playing through as we were to slow. I said a few choice words to the 90 year old & said go ahead.IF i didn't we would have been hit by him for sure.He was really rude & we noticed the 2 of them drove past the twosome ahead of us & then played through the next foresome.We saw them on the ninth hole 1 hour after they tee-off. As far as golf went we enjoyed the course,greens were fast,bunkers raked,rough just right..Got a birdie & played under 4 hours.

We played 9 holes 'walking' easily within 2 hours, at the end of our 9 holes a 'local golfer' came up to me asking if I knew golf etiquette. He said we should have moved faster, he was playing in a twosome behind us. After the 6th hole we asked him where the 7th hole was at no point in that meeting did he suggest there was a problem.
nice course but the mosquitoes!!!!!!
We gave up after 15 holes due to the mosquitoes. Haven't seen mosquitoes like this on the Island. The course was very nice but it was unplayable due to the biting bugs. Never again!!!!!
Power cart too exspensive
I came up from Victoria & got a good rate on Golf Now. What they charge for a power cart is too exspensive, it was more than the round & booking fee. I was able to share the cart with another golfer to split the cost. $27 for single golfer is extreme. The pace of play was so slow , maybe too many on course at the same time. I was being eaten by mosquitos but after 9 holes the clubhouse attendent gave me some spray(thank you) & I was able to finnish last nine.:)

Like playing off of concrete
The course is very well laid out however, due to watering restrictions (no fault of the club itself) it is difficult to play. The fairways and approaches are as hard as concrete and it is near impossible to create back spin or shape the ball flight. Your ball does carry very far off of the tee boxes though because the fairways are about the same as the cart paths.
bring bug spray
I got a great deal on Golf Now but wouldn't hurry back. Mosquitos were awful, swarming you in the shaded areas. It was just average for interest on the course. Much better courses in the area.
Always enjoy this course
Always in great condition. Forward tees actually make a difference! Great variety in terrain. Opportunity to use all your clubs. Most greens protected by bunkers with good sand.
Cowichan Friendly
Good value for your last minute dollar! Reception was a little stiff. Food and beverage very nice. No water on course. No beverage cart on course. Holes 10 and 11 are as hard as any hole anywhere.
Nice course in good condition
The course is in great shape, walkable for sure. It's not the longest, but there are subtle challenges that raises the bar on several holes. Perfect course for mid handicappers. Single digits will rip it up. I had lots of fun.
Good course for a good time
Great service, course I pretty good shape! There were a couple a greens that were pretty challenging. Over all we had a good time
