Cowichan Golf and Country Club

Always enjoyed this track. Lots of tree lined fairways . Make sure you hit it straight.

A lovely and challenging course, but forgiving since the fairways are pretty wide and an errant shot can be played from adjacent fairways. Not overly long so you don't have to be a big hitter to get to the greens in regulation.

Everyone was friendly and helpful. We were two and were joined by a single who was a regular and could give us tips. The weather was perfect and the surroundings are spectacular.

Good value for money.

This was my first time golfing after 3 years and my husband has golfed many times in the past. Being my first time out - it was very enjoyable. The conditions were great!!! It was nice that there was toilet facilities throughout - which for some people is not an issue, but those that like to drink lots of water it was perfect. We received great prices for the golfing itself and the lady at the shop gave us a deal on the cart as well - thanks so much!!!

Course was in great shape. Played in a Sunday morning and finished in less than 4 hours. Norm and his staff are always great.

Greens in excellent shape although a little slow. Thick thick rough, stay in the fairway.

Course was in fairly good shape. Green appears to have been punched a couple of weeks ago. Rough was a little thick but may be because it rained night before. Got a great price off Golf Now $14 for 18 holes.

I have played this course two weeks in a row, and both times the fairways have not been cut, neither the rough which is about eight inches high, plus the drainage is debatable on most holes. We played 18 holes and lost in total 10 golf balls that were lost in the rough, adjacent to the fairway, or the ball got plugged and was not locatable on the fairway. It took three golfers almost five hours to play, with the biggest culprit looking for your golf ball. We estimated that we spent at least 45 minutes looking for our ball. It was a disaster and we won't play this course until it is completely dried out and all the grass is cut.

Being 31 March it was a little early for this course even though favorable weather lately it was extremely wet in areas . Difficult to take a swing and hit the ball properly when sinking a couple inches from shifting weight on the feet. Balls were being plugged and after a high pop up in the center of the fairway I had one ball high off the tee on 10 I could not find even though seen where it landed I just think it sunk out of sight as I was sinking beyond the top of my shoes in the search of the ball. There was many temporary tee boxes . Paid the full price of the power cart even though we did not get full use of a power cart as it was a must to stay on the cart paths. I have been here twice before but I did not believe it was as friendly as I remember but I did see good interaction with people who was familiar with them. Wasn't always clearly marked where the next hole was. Thank to golf now for the deal I received on a normally overprice course.

The course was wet everywhere not just the water hazards. Some fairways had not been cut since last fall. Probably didn't want to loose their equipment in the muddy fairways!

Lounge not open past 4:30 pm so we were not able to visit!

Course was a little wet but expected. Greens were fantastic. As always manager and staff are just the absolute best.

I have played Cowichan many times over the years and always enjoy playing there. it is a shorter course but still can be very challenging. the holes are all tree lined so you can get in trouble pretty easily. I would recommend a round of golf here.

Staff is always great at Cowichan, greens can be tough if you don't know the breaks.

It is a nice course and well maintained, but it is a little tight and you need to be aware of other players on some fairways. Fun to play though.

Where I come from we water our golf courses. Every fairway was completely dead, most greens were the same. I am glad I didn't have to pay the full rate. Pace was exceptionally slow and the beer cart was not operating in the middle of summer. To sum it up if I would have payed full price, after the first hole I would have asked for a refund.

Visiting some friends in the area and decided to get out for a round. Stunning views and well laid out. Only complaint was that they had just punched the greens but for the rate I got through golf now I didn't let it affect my outlook. Very relaxing game with nice pace of play. The 10th hole was particularly scenic. Will be playing again for sure.
