Kamloops Golf and Country Club

About
Kamloops Golf & Country Club is the oldest course in the area and over the years it has become a local favorite. The golf course underwent a major renovation in 2010 that incorporated undulating fairways and greens. The makeover revitalized the original design while also complementing its best features. The bunkers were reshaped and the water hazards were redesigned. Strategically placed mounding was also added. The golf course is more challenging but overall it's playable
for a variety of skill levels. Kamloops isn't terribly long, from the back tees it is just over 6,700 yards, but it still provides a round that's interesting enough for more advanced players. It's more traditional in design, but there are subtle degrees of difficulty that will keep you on your toes. The terrain is mostly flat, making it a nice golf course to walk and the mature trees provide shady respite as well.

A great course for walking or riding a golfboard
The first impressions of the course were underwhelming. You could see how flat the fairways were, and dozens of members were heading out onto the course in front of us like ants marching. Playing anywhere the day after Tobiano can feel a bit deflating.
Once my foursome got out on the course, however, our perspectives changed. The holes were all interesting and shaped nicely through the trees. After a day of over-the-top modern golf, it was great to get back to a traditional look and feel that wouldn't beat us up. I rode a golfboard and had a great time.
While there's only one pond to worry about and no elevation change whatsoever, the golf is still engaging.
Turns out, the members can race around the course while walking. We finished in less than four hours, leaving plenty of time to catch my flight home from the tiny Kamloops airport next door.
It's location is perfect for arrival or departure day if you're flying in for a buddies trip.
Favorite Course
My favorite course in Kamloops. Great walking course, it is nice and flat. Some fairways look a little dry or damaged from winterkill but still a great course to play. Keep it in the fairway and your game will seem fairly easy, but offline shots may encounter trees, tall grasses, bunkers or water. Pace of play is usually good but as with any course, sometimes it can be slower. No deals to be found from golfnow, little pricey and more so if you take a cart. Rates reasonable if you golf with a member. Clientele is average golf savy type. Clubhouse restaurant is typical with typical menu to cater to golfers appetite.
Great walkable course
This course is perfect for walking as it is generally flat and there isn't a lot of distance betweem holes. The course was in excellent condition.
slow play
It was a great deal. But the pace was so slow. Two hole took over 30 minutes. Waited on every hole mostly because of the huge golf tournament going on. If I would have know would of booked else where!
Good conditions and nice pace of play.
Enjoyable course to play. Mature course with lots of trees and well maintained fairways and greens. Rough is manageable on most holes.
Lush fairways
Great walking course, greens are a little slow, lot's of trees to work around.
Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
What an exciting day! A local dog came over to greet us and a bird hung out with us for the entire back 9, even sat on our clubs. Scenery is beautiful and the course was in great shape even for its last day of 2013.
Walking is Easy
What a wonderful course. The trees are so beautiful but the fairways are wide enough that for the most part, the trees don't come into play. It is a nice easy walk. The course has great distance on various holes and just enough bunkers to make it interesting. I really enjoyed playing the Kamloops Golf Course.
Very playable and walkable course. Great shape, lot's of sand.
Great walking course on a beautiful fall day. Still good shape with nice sand protecting many of the fairly quick greens.
Great experience. Thank you GolfNow.
Great course
Fairways were in great condition. Pace of play was great as 2 of us were walking with push carts. Lots of variety. West facing holes were a challenge around sunset. Will definety play here again.
Nice layout. Good greens. Well maintained. Good value.
Golf course is beautful. Easy to walk. Challenging. Nasty trees :-)
This is a top-notch walking course with many deceptively challenging holes
I really enjoyed the perfectly maintained fairways and the interesting course layout. The greens were undulating and speedy and in near perfect condition. Most of the greens were very well protected with bunkers and the fairways were lined with big trees on either side.
Excellent value for GolfNow Hot Deal!
Course in excellent condition - especially after a string of very hot and dry weather. It would be appreciated if more golfers would repair their ball marks on the green - seems like that is a fading courtesy everywhere, though it is particularly sad on a course this well conditioned.
I love golfing Kamloops golf and country...nice and shaded when needed and also challenging
reminds me of the history of golf..old times...ie instead of cart signs they are trolley signs..just take you back in history. Challenging but yet relaxing..
Better price than membership dues with GolfNow!!
Clean fast passed and not so busy. Members are on course to help new people with the course
New Layout, great improvement.
Fairways were immaculate. The new layout makes the course more enjoyable, but not less challenging. Some pretty long par 4's and a lot of trees, so direction is important.
Thank goodness for all the trees, because the day we played it was in the mid thirties.
Now that the course is more reasonably priced on Golf Now, we'll play there more often.
Nice course good layout
Well maintained flat walkable older style course, fun a little bit challenging
Had a great day of fun.
The course is in great shape, is not to difficult that you can't bring out your driver with confidence but challenging enough for real enjoyment. Old growth trees and good practice facilities.
