Sorry to see this club go in April
Have played many times at WCC over the years, has an interesting layout, course conditions are usually pretty good (although very average yesterday), and reasonable rates. Was sad to hear the course will close in April as the developer of the area wishes to build 95 or so additional homes on the land of the course. Really? Not enough open land in central Florida elsewhere? Told by employees the club is proftiable currently, feel bad this course is going away and bad for the neighborhood as well.

We enjoyed our day. Course was in good condition, pace of play was very good (4:10 for 18). Staff was helpful and pleasant. Grill was clean, food good and reasonable.
Best Course Played
One of the best courses you can play for the money.
sorry to see it go
What a shame to give up such a wonderful course for construction. What do people think the reason for the privitization was in the first place????
Let's make it semi private so the public can play and share some of the costs with the residents.
That seems to be the trend nowadays to save these pristine courses from destruction. Lovely course and very fair for the ladies. SAVE WINDERMERE GOLF!!
Orlando trip
Course was dry and greens were too.....not worth the money
never again
The course is about to close for good in April, it has been sold.
The pace of play was very slow & it was very cold, we came off after 9 holes the 4 ball in front couldn't play & had no idea of golf etiquette same as the 4 ball in front of them.
The buggy was just about working.
The greens were not for the average golfer
The course directions from golf now were way out.
Sorry not a good thing too say about this course a complete waste of a day & $70
DONT PLAY HERE!!!
Worst management of a golf course and staff that I have ever experienced. No wonder the golf course is closing. From the management of the staff, to closing early, not having capable Internet to process transactions.
Could have overlooked all that except our cart broke down four times. Not only did it take 6 hours to play the round but we had to walk in from the 18th green. Best of all, "sarcasm", they wouldn't even comp our round. We spent over $80 on food and extras as well.
Also, all the reviews on golfnow and Google are done by the staff. Everyone at the course we talked to, as they drove by us as we waited on another cart, told us it is the last place to play. This was said by at least 8 to 9 people. They all said the reviews were made up and false.
I feel sorry for the residents of the course that have had to endure this. No amount of money could save this course. They don't need to redo the course, they need to fire Ben Swanson and the rest of the Staff
This course has nice greens
I would play it again. Enjoyed the round on a nice course.
Play it before it is too late
Windermere was a very well laid out course, but maintenance was clearly needed. Found out after the round that the course has been sold to developers and after April 1st there will be no golf course. Very sad.
Keep the course.
Outstanding!!! Great value. Well kept. Helpful staff. Would be a shame if it closed. Will definitely play there again.
Friendly Staff, average layout
Course was very average, both in conditioning and design. Greens did hold well but weren't very smooth. Starter and cart staff were very accomodating. Still sounds as if this course will close in April however local homeowners are rallying to the cause and trying to retain the course.
Good test if golf
Fun golf course to play. Good layout, great greens, not to tight, fair test of golf.
Just what a winter in Detroit Ordered
Truly enjoyed my round of golf at this coarse. Word that comes to mind regarding the staff is (PROFESSIONAL).
I will be returning on my next visit to my time share week.
Sacrilege
We played this course on our visit from the UK, we were shocked to find that such a great golf course was soon to become a housing development site.
So if your quick it's well worth a visit. The course layout is very good with fast undulating greens. Obviously there are the signs that the place is closing down but the whole team seem to be putting on a brave face and keeping the place going.
Need more help
Need more help putting golf carts out, and some more golf carts.
Wonderful Round.
The course was in very good condition for a course that will be closing in less then two months. The greens played fast, the fairways had been cut tight and short, and the pace was 4 hours. What a shame that this course will be closing as it is a awesome course to play, if you are in the area get out on it as the owner claims he will be shutting it down in April, yet this course is in better condition then some courses that have no plans on closing.
Sun setting for WGC
One of my favorite courses in central Florida which is sadly closing in April. The course is starting to wear down. Fairways are ok but greens are not so good. Course conditions are good given its closing down in a few months and staff is very nice
The big issue is that no one controlling tee times and pace of play so you have to wait around a lot and deal with unruly groups so it's not worth it for me anymore.
Very good coarse
I loved the layout of this coarse, a little of everything. Coarse was in good shape and it is a good Florida style golf coarse .House on coarse but never interfering with play like so many coarse here in Florida. It's a shame if they close this coarse, the owner should go and but one of the other coarse where the houses are in the coarse ,and develop that coarse. I think if this coarse had better promo they would not be closing it.
closing april 16
what a shame great course friendly staff and very scenic. Had a great day glad I played as it will close before I come back to the area.
Nice layout
Pretty demanding layout on some holes with blind shots off the tee, as on last few holes on the back nine...conditions on fairways were not perfect because of heavy rains, but greens are fun to putt and ultra fast!
Too bad they are planning on closing the course to put houses up.
Feel bad for homeowners who bought golf course property and now have no golf course!
Bummer!
Bet property values will certainly diminish drastically...
