Lots of mature trees
Great golf, loved the course
From the first step onto this golf course we were met by friendly staff. The course needed fair prescision hitting off the T's.
The course was in very good shape this time of the year. I would recommend this course.
Great sale in Pro shop. Both pro gentlemen just so friendly
Diamond in the rough
Even though this course is very close to an international airport it is great fun to play. The fairways and greens are immaculate bunkers are a little rough but the water hazards are well placed and so strategic play is rewarded. Lots of lovely shade trees and all in all a good experience
Great value, walkable course, great service!
Played this local course a number of times over the years. Great course for the money in the area. Couple of quirky holes which have you re-think club selection. Staff friendliness is superb. Not as busy as some of the more prestigious courses so pace of play is usually very good. Course tends to stay wet longer than others in the area as has a river running through it. Kind of cool to see multiple planes landing/taking off if u don't mind the noise...
Hot July at Shadow Ridge
A mature tree lined course. Very tight layout so distance between greens and tee boxes is very short, but many fairways are still quite wide. A few blind shots, but no information provided to advise about direction and forward hazards. Many greens are small for length of hole.Right beside the airport so can be noisy. Fairways were very firm giving increased roll.
Love this course!
Can easily walk this course. Course is in good condition and is good value for your dollar. Staff are very friendly. Always enjoy my round when playing here.
Great Value, Solid Golf
I wanted to play 9 holes today before a round at Black Mountain later in the week, I found the $23 9 hole price at 2 PM on a Monday afternoon to be very fair. Being on a college budget, this course had great value. The staff at the proshop put me on the back 9 and said I could jump out right now if I wanted, 25 minutes before my tee time! Pace of play was fantastic, to be fair it was 34 degrees in the middle of the afternoon but you can't beat that! I was going to play as a solo, but then a 73 year old gentleman joined me. He was a member for 10+ years and gave me tips thru the entire course.
I have to say, the course was challenging but rewarding. The layout gives the opportunities for both my 23 year old self and my 73 year old playing partner. It allows for different playing styles to have a fair chance at scoring on holes. Par 5s are reachable in 2 for most big hitters. Wedges in have to be accurate but there is room to bail out. Greens rolled very fast as expected.
Whoever complained about the airplanes needs to learn how to pull off and start their routine over.
I expect I will be playing this course every time I visit Kelowna.
Not as advertised
I Used golf now for a hot deal which included carts. When we got to the course the pro shop argued that they weren't included. I ended up having to pay $40 extra for a cart so my round costed just as much as a nice track would have. Not worth the $65 to play on a such a low quality course. So many better in the area for the same price.
First timer
First time golfing this year and first time at this course. The course was superb along withal of the staff. I will definitely golf again here when we get back to Kelowna
Tree lined
Course in good shape. Is flat, lined with beautiful trees and is easy walk. But don't be deceived. Those trees come in to play on almost every hole. Great challenge. Oh yes watch out for the creek running through many holes.
Wet round still works
Spring is wet on this course apparently....the water table is leaking moisture onto the course in many spots and the solution is to pump it away. This meant there was equipment working to hold the water levels down. The 16th hole was so wet it had a temporary green. In spite of it all it was a gorgeous day and the relaxed pace made it an enjoyable round
Looks easy but can beat you up!
We enjoy it as you can walk it as well as a challenge
I luv Shadow Ridge
I put Shadow Ridge in my top 5 courses to play. I always take visitors to Shadow!
Slow
Too slow!! It took 5 hours. But giving course the benefit of the doubt, it was Easter long weekend. Have played here many times before and pace of play is generally quite slow but tolerable.
Slow
Most of the other players were planning the wrong test for their handicaps
Great staff
Friendly staff. The course was in great shape for end of October. Beautiful willows everywhere. I really enjoyed this coursevb
Nice course, super deal through golfnow
Great course. We walked 18 holes and it was quite enjoyable. Pace of play was excellent. Course is more difficult than it looks. Many extra large birch trees along the fairway make play interesting. Stay on the fairway !! You probably will not lose many balls at all in the rough but you will have to chip it back to the fairway to get a clear view of the green. We did like the back nine a little better. Staff are excellent. Fun day.
Great Day
On Vacation in Kelowna. Had a great day. Course was great. Only issue was the course Marshall riding up behind you when taking a shot.
Hope you can putt with a 747 in your backswing
Right under the runway for the YLW airport. There is no possibility of NOT having a plane shake your boots.
If you can play a right to left draw you have a distinct advantage on MANY holes. It just seems like a tree, a cut, a overhanging branch, a dogleg. its always favoring the draw shot. They dont have a range. so im often practicing a draw at the range down the road beforhand. its worth it!.
Some killer long par 4's (one i believe is the hardest in the valley)
The course is low, not many bugs and mozzies in the okanagan, but there are some here.
Overall a lower rating because of conditions and facilities being older and not so upto date.
On a side note, there is a man that runs the clubhouse...... he is large..... like The Mountain from game of thrones, large. He followed our group one time. I seen a 360+yrd drive roll up to our carts. Crazy
Play it, some people love it. Not my fav
Thanks for the golf now info!
