Fairwinds Golf Club
About
Overlooking the Georgia Strait, Fairwinds Golf Club occupies a scenic stretch of land on the East Coast covered with towering Douglas Firs and Garry Oak trees. An abundance of wildlife also inhabits the course. It is not rare to see deer during a round or an eagle flying overhead. The oceanfront golf course features water on 11 holes and there are more than 70 sand bunkers strategically guarding the greens and fairways. Les Furber designed the course, incorporating subtle nuances in the greens that make them much more challenging than they appear. Fairwinds is often thought of as a "thinking course" as it requires careful strategy in order maneuver the contoured greens and tree-lined fairways. Seasoned golfers may be able to uncover some hidden birdie opportunities. Known not only for the challenging round, Fairwinds Golf Club boasts pristine conditions, which has made it a popular golfing destination.

Great course
Great course....I can hardly wait to play it again. By far the best maintained on the island
Very nice!!
The course is in great shape. It is a very good course on Vancouver Island. A good mixture of holes with varying elevations. We had a great day!
great course
The course was in great shape . Greens were true and fairly firm. For the cost on Golf now was what we thought very afforsable. Will definetly be going again soon.
Greens and course condition excellent.
I thought course excellent but little pricey for course length and carts overpriced . Just at Bear Mnt. Valley same price with GPS cart.
Great Day at Fairwinds
Thanks GolfNow, course was in great shape, the couple we met up with from Singapore were wonderful people and we had a great day. Pace of play was slow due to a couple of mixed groups having some problems but all in all an enjoyable round.
always enjoy variety of holes, pick the holes to hit your driver
rewards good shots and bites you if dont have your A game.. subtle penalties. all of a sudden you are putting for bogie and wondering how your ball kicked into the water, rough, ditch etc lol
Fairwinds Rocks!
This course is always immaculate. The staff is awesome, and the marshals keep the flow moving very well. Bravo.
Poor Service for Price
Arrived approximately 1 hour before 9:50 am tee time. Dropped off clubs at bag drop, no one to greet you. Parked our vehicle, made way to proshop, paid for round $210 for 2 people (as well as another $14 for two smaller buckets of balls). Went to the washroom, and found our own cart, our bags still not touched, arranged bags on cart. Tried to find range, but signage horrible. Found snack shop at the turn, and got directions to the range. Warmed up, returned to first tee, and played behind four ladies that were slow. Even though whole hole and a half between the ladies and next group, Marshall would do nothing. Returned cart to proshop and still not a soul around. Other than person to take your money, and starter who offered nothing as far as a greeting or advice, no staff for a $200 ticket. Also golfed Morningside, MUCH better service, and just as good a course.
fairwinds challange
the coarse was in great shape and everyone was quite friendly. I enjoyed the place very much and would definatly recommend it to everyone .
super quiet
this quiet and very peaceful course takes away the feeling of being in the city. nature all around and large homes that are tucked off the course make it feel like a private course.
Long Time since I played this course.
I have not played this course for probably 10 years. I would say it was in better shape now than at times in the past. It meanders around a subdivision of very big beautiful houses, some of which have great salt water views. They are not as intrusive as other courses though as they are elevated to the fairways. There is quite a distance between some greens and the next tees and some elevation differences. This makes for some good air as you hit off some of the tees, so it is fun. A mature course so there are lots of beautiful trees and water. All in all another good day playing golf.
Loved this course and the challenges
Course was in very good shape. Greens played very well and the fairways were in fair shape, though there were a lot of divots not being filled by golfers?
One of my favorite courses
Fairwinds offers a pleasant and challenging variety of shots, from long and straight, to dog-legs, to elevation changes and water hazards. There is never a dull moment at this picturesque course, where deer are in such abundance that one may have to shoo some out of your way.
The food at the clubhouse is exceptional and the pro-shop is well stocked.
Some nice golf holes.
Good value, nice course. It was in good shape, the greens were average speed, the fairways okay. The blue tees were my choice as the whites are relatively short.
Great condition!
Course in great condition. Greens were smooth and fairly quick, yet just soft enough to allow some spin.
It was my first time playing this course and I walked. Its quite undulating and a difficult walk in the heat (30c). A few holes are very difficult for walkers, especially between 15 green & 16 tee, where you have to walk p a long winding path to hit your tee shot and then walk back down and past the green where you just played. Does nothing to help the pace of play!
Our favourite course on Vancouver .Island.
My wife scored a hole-in-one on hole #6 which made it even more special. She used a 6 hybrid and her birthday is on Sept. 6. Perfect weather, perfect scenery, perfect day.
Great deal
Overall a great value for the money. Course in great shape and staff was awesome.
Great course and people.
This is a beautiful course and the people are very friendly. The back is a little more difficult to walk and a cart definitely helps on a hot day.
excellent course
beautiful course with an amundance of wildlife and scenery
