Granite Pointe Golf Club
The first nine holes of Granite Pointe Golf Club were built in 1920 and were later joined by a back nine in 1993 that tumbles through the mountains. The layout features a number of risk-reward holes that require accurate shot-making. The golf course begins with rolling parkland and offers wide, player-friendly fairways but then becomes progressively more challenging as it winds through the mountains. There are several elevated tees on the back nine that offer spectacular views of Kootenay Lake and the Kokanee Glacier. Holes 15-17, known as the Three Aces, offer some excellent scoring opportunities. The par-4 16th is touted to be one of the best holes in BC. The golf course finishes with its signature hole. This par 4's trademark is the massive granite boulder that partially blocks the view of the home stretch.

Great price, but if playing thursday afternoon prepare for longer round, as its mens night. Also prepare for a grumpy proshop staff. Restaurant staff were great though and they had great specials
I’m a member at GP and brought some friends that were visiting from out of town. The pro shop staff was very helpful and friendly, top notch service. The course is in excellent shape, minus some rough spots in the fairways but you can’t expect perfection on a course built on the mountainside. The greens are in great condition and Granite Pointe offers a challenge on every single shot. My friends and I enjoyed the day and the challenge. Thanks to the staff for making it a friendly and enjoyable experience for my guests.
Challenging in parts and beautiful scenery
This was our first time playing here and we found the front nine challenging and the back nine easier. Nice combination of long, middle and short distance holes. Fairways and greens in good condition. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fund round in a mountain town.
Great day at Granite
Played Granite Point, and had a great outing. Beautiful scenery, friendly staff. Challenging course.....plays longer than it looks.
I couldnt believe the course was not packed.. we started our round at 1:30 PM, no one in front or behind us.. we absolutely loved the course, grioned nicely and polite friendly staff..
Staff is top notch
The young staff at this golf course were very courteous and friendly . Top notch professionalism from pro shop to cart girl who was a totally helpful in ensuring a great day on the links .
Granite pointe well done!
Granite Pointe. Worth the trip!
Greens were amazing. But a bit too fast for me. The fairways need cutting. A bit too long. Great views would recommend for sure.
A cart is a definate requirement for many! The course is built on the side of a mountain and many holes are up and or down it.. True to its name there are many "Granite" boulders scattered throughout the course. The fairways and rough was very lush and made fairway shots a pleasure. The greens on the other hand were very fast even though there seemed to be a lot of "winter kill" still evident. Overall it was an enjoyable round with a few good shots and new memories made.
We walked this course and found it challenging and very enjoyable. Nothing to complain about!
Use a cart on the back! Program your gps to find this one, non existent signage. And trust your Gps because you won't know you found it till you hit the parking lot. Didn't leave any ball marks on the tricky greens, and you'll be happy if you find a level lie on the fairways. Nobody here. Took 3 1/2 hrs to walk. Nice course
Greens great, as usual.
Even though we happened to arrive on a day they had the front closed for greens maintenance it made for an excellent opportunity to play the back 9 twice. It is the more challenging 9 and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Great course offering some challenging approaches
Scenic mountain course. Very friendly staff. The front nine is easier to walk and the back quite hilly. Several holes have an uphill approach to the greens.
Best mountain and lake views
This course has the most spectacular glacier and lake views of any course in the country. It's feels like your playing in scene from a great golf movie. Greens are fast and true. Fairways are challenging.
Best value in the Kootenays
Granite Pointe in Nelson is a fun course with amazing views. The clubhouse is one of the best in the area, The staff is as good as it gets, The course is very desirable for the low handicappers from the blues. If you are an average golfer shorted out from the whites for even more fun. The course is a range plenty of parking tons of power carts and should be busier but with all the hiking, boating, shopping and Nelson culture it is not. Use golf now for best pricing or visit them as they are lenient
Staff went above and beyond
Novice golfers, my friend and I wanted to try improving our game. I made sure to book a tee time later in the afternoon so as not to hold up any pros. Although the day was winding down, the staff at the pro shop were beyond helpful, outfitting us with a power cart and club rentals. The service really made our day!
a beautiful day
almost beyond words, perfect, perfect, perfect and if that is not enough totally awesome !
Lovely views and friendly people
Great front nine with beautiful views. The people were all friendly. It was busy enough, but still had time to find balls. Sitting on the deck after the game in the sunshine added to the day!
