About
Just two hours north of Victoria one comes across the scenic beach resort town of Parksville, and home to the Les Furber designed Morningstar Golf Club. Morningstar has a dynamic layout with a great mix of interesting and challenging holes. As host club to three "Canadian Tour" events, Morningstar is a great test and a most memorable golf experience.

Its to bad because Morningstar was my favorite course in the Nanaimo area. But now some of the greens are in terrible shape and make myself and friends look else where

Exceptional course
A beautiful course situated in a large housing development.This was the first time playing on this course . As an average golfer , I was initially intimidated by the size of this course. But we were luckily paired up with a former member that knew every part of this course. He definitely helped my game along.
We'll be back
Hubs and I came for another go at having better games than the first time. This is a championship course so is set to be more difficult than some, narrower fairways, lots of hazards and tricky greens. You do have to work to get to the hole. We did shave a few strokes off though!
Nice to sit for a cool drink and a bite afterwards. Delicious French fries!

Rain day
Considering this course has held several BC Championships, the green were in terrible shape with many dead grass spots on the greens
A Little Wet but the course needed the rain
A very enjoyable round of golf. A few greens are suffering from the recent drought so it was fitting that we got rained on for a few holes. I found that the sand bunkers need to be raked better or have some addition sand brought in as they are getting thin. Morningstar is a challenging course at times but who isn't up to a challenge. First time playing the Silver tees, (hybrid of the blue/white) & thought the distance was perfect.

Good course has championship tee boxes lots of options for beginner right to scratch golfer. good walk too
bring your A game
requires planning and positional play. had 4, three putts from 30 ft or so. playing the par fives for a five is a good plan.
this course has lots of doglegs
The first hole was typical of my day.I couldn't see the green or a flags anywhere . The score card had no picture of the course layout,so we played conservative off of the tee.
The course was in excellent condition.Greens were of various shapes & sizes that made you hit to a spot to avoid any 3 putts.
I shot an 85 today,one of my best rounds of the year.
Lots of golfers were walking,but it is a long course,so i rode.
Good Conditions, Fair Price
After golfing Fairwinds the day before, Morningstar was a treat. Staff was friendly, everything well laid out, golf carts were in excellent condition, course well maintained. Much better value for money than Fairwinds.
Early Summer and the course is in good shape
Morningstar never fails to challenge and is almost always in pretty good condition. Today was no exception, the course is in very good shape. They have added some bunkers since I last played and allowed the fescue and long grass to really grow in some areas. Some of the pin placements are extremely challenging when tucked into the smaller tiers on the large rolling greens. The fairways and rough are very soft and it felt a bit like they are over-watering for this early in the summer.
5 hours to play
Pace was extremely slow more than. 5 hours to play course. No marshall checking on pace had to wait at almost every tee box
Beautiful course
Great course! Played with a couple of members and their hints were very helpful. Course was in fantastic condition and greens were fast and true. Will be back!

getting shabby
played this course many time it now has the worst bunkers on vancouver island less than 1/2 inch of sand in most ,slow greens overpriced for what you get looks like no money going back into course plays short from the white tees need to play the blues no course map/ yardage book good luck guessing the hole layouts

Greens are true and fast!
Fun filled day after a short frost delay. The staff are so accommodating and friendly. Always a fun filled day.
