Guildford Golf and Country Club
About
Guildford Golf & Country Club has long been known as one of the finest courses British Columbia has to offer. The golf course is located in Surrey, just across the U.S. border from Washington and less than 40 minutes from Vancouver. The scenic layout has fairways lined with mature trees and the greens are large and undulating. There are also creeks that weave across the golf course and numerous lakes that come into play. The layout has a classic design that still provides a challenge for all skill levels. Golfers are put to the test right away on the first two holes, a par 4 and a par 3 respectively, which require good course management and thoughtful decision making. Guilford's standout hole though, is the signature 16th. This tough par 3 is modeled after the notorious 12th hole at Augusta National, complete with a stone bridge and water hazard that encircles almost the entire green.

First round of the year
Gentleman at check-in was very friendly. Conditions were to be expected for this time of year, soft and muddy throughout the course but I’ve played Guildford under worse conditions before. Greens were recently sanded and there was one temporary green that we were not made aware of. All in all, a beautiful day for a sub-$30 round of golf. Only complaint was pace of play. We followed a slow twosome that was following a slow threesome and a slow foursome. It would have been nice if a course marshall could have been there to move them along.
Tee box improvements!
Happy to see that they are investing money back
Into certain areas of the course that required it. I went on a wet- rainy day. Other then a few holes that had standing water in low spots in the fairway, was in all around decent shape. Would really like to see signs for people repairing pitch marks, and how to do it prosperity, along with having reminders on course to repair divots, always get people who don’t care because they are to ignorant and high on themselves, or just don’t care.. rarely people are not aware of how to do it! Take care of the course it’ll be nice all the time, that’s all!
Confidence booster
This course is always a confidence booster, it reminds me how simple golf can be but still leaves enough spots where shaping your shots from the black tees can be fun. Decent course to play on- the value for the 18 holes is what what keeps me coming back. Good way to keep your muscle memory going on a budget!
Winter layout not good
Disappointed course gone to winter layout wo any mention on course site. Too many temp greens and several mats for price paid. Not sure why protecting greens as greens in poor shape anyways (bouncing balls and lots of goose poop). Will play elsewhere till spring
