Gorgeous Evening Round

Great price for late in day. We managed to play 13 holes before it was dark. We loved it, had gorgeous weather, the fairways and greens were very well kept.

Disappointed

I live just down the street. We would play this course regularly, but there is always a problem.
Today I warming up at the practice area, when a groundskeeper very rudely told me to move one foot to left,
I was in the wrong spot. Give me a break. It's a golf course. Unfortunately, it only take a few staff members, to
shin a negative light on the rest a the staff. Not going back

U club

I’ve always enjoyed playing here. Surrounded by tall trees you almost forget there’s a bustling city all around you. Located on the endowment lands at UBC you’ll find some challenges for all levels of golfers but you will also find some rewarding holes too. This is one course you should try and play once especially if you live in the greater Vancouver area.

Nothing stands out about the course. It was in decent shape, not much character to the course.

Driving range is nice, if your in the area and don't have many options then go, not worth making a long drive or day trip too.

Played with some very nice people which made the day more enjoyable.

A Good Golfing Experience

Summary ...the course is one of the oldest in the metropolitan Vancouver area and is on the edge of the University of BC campus (their main Point Grey site). Nice views, great older growth forest surrounds the course, gets lots of traffic. Would be a good place to play in the warmer Spring - Summer months. The staff are all fairly friendly and golf knowledgeable...right down to the food and beverage staff -- which is a great sign!

Tees: 4/5 ... the course offers multiple tees, though they can be spaced fairly close to each other, there is enough variation in distances to accommodate the different skill levels. The overall condition of the tees were fair, they could be better, but they are in decent shape, especially given the time of year in which I am basing this review (March 30).

Greens: 4/5 ... the greens were in good locations relative to the fairway(s), and had a good mix of bunkers and undulations to guard par. The grass though is a bit inconsistent with lots of foreign grass intruding into the greens. It looks like rye grass has invaded the original grass of the greens (the original grass appears to be bent grass).

Fairways 3/5 ...the fairways were pretty fair and offered a good test of golf requiring you to size up your tee shots, find the best landing areas for approaches, etc. A good mix of fairway bunkers and hazards (lateral)...not much in the way of forced carries. They were a fair bit soft during our round, but should firm up much nicer as the weather turns warmer and drier.

Food & Beverage: 3.5/5 ... I found the food and beverage service to be quite good...the staff were friendly and outgoing...the quality of the food and drink was quite good too. Seems like a good place to perhaps have a beer or wine and watch a game on the television there. They also have on-course food & beverage area between the first and second nine.
Practice areas: 2.5/5 ... just an average rating here as the practice range while offering a decent size, is not really maintained very well. Far too many cobwebs, dirt, and poor mats and lighting suggest that they use this area as their cash cow. There is a small putting area but not too much more in the way of practice areas.

fun course

the course is a tricky course , my favourite hole being # 11 . the greens can be in pretty rough shape most days . playable year round however the ground gets really tough through the winter months. staff is very unfriendly. have had times where I ask to go out as a single and they say they have nothing open and than I show up and no one is even teeing off.
