The Rise Golf Club
About
The Rise Golf Club is situated 400 meters above Okanagan Lake, providing stunning views of the water and surrounding valley. Fred Couples paired up with Gene Bates to design the course, skillfully manipulating fairway width, landing area design, and hazard placement in order to make a golf course that both a seasoned professional could enjoy as well as a high handicapper. The landscape's natural wetlands, including Moose Pond on the 12th hole, were carefully preserved and incorporated into the design. The par-3 15th hole is the course's trademark. This hole plays from an elevated tee that sits 100 feet above the green, which is also framed by a large pond. Opened in 2008, The Rise Golf Club is one of the area's newest but it has quickly become a local favorite.

vry challenging
course requires good course management and shot selection, very challenging with extreme elevation changes and variety of holes
Couples or Eastwood?
We decided that this course was really designed by Clint Eastwood.
THE GOOD: interesting layout with panoramic lake and valley views from many holes.
Tour caliber greens.
GPS on carts.(thank goodness)
If you're looking for a challenge, this is the place.
THE BAD: WAY too many blind shots.
Yes, you have a cart but be prepared to do some hiking.
The food cart was broken and the kiosk at the turn had run out of sandwiches
No drinking water on the course.
THE UGLY: Although the course itself is in great condition, the complex has an unfinished feel with a temporary clubhouse and portapotties throughout. The cart paths are paved but there is an abundance of dirt access roads going all over the place, I guess to facilitate future housing construction.
MOVIE REVIEW: not for everyone but if you're in the area give it a look. It might not make you're top ten list but you'll never forget the story.
Fantastic views and scenery. Great course
Great course. Brings lots of balls but worth it! Fantastic views. Course is in amazing shape!
Great course, great weather, amazing views
This course is fantastic, it has some of the best views in the okanagan valley and the staff is awesome all around. I have played the rise a few times over the last 4 years and I have never been disapointed. The course challenges you to play a "smart" game.
Good golf outing for anyone
Cart GPS alleviates problem of blind shots, for the most part. One of the most scenic courses in the Southern Interior region. Does need some maintenance in pock marks in greens and in some small areas by paths, all possibly due to end of season.
Bad week to play The Rise
The only issue I have with the course was that on Monday (Aug. 26th) everything was great as far as conditions where concerned. We went to the course yesterday (Aug. 28) and we find the practice green along with the other 18 holes just had their greens 'punched' the day before. Under normal circumstances you as a golfer are notified when this maintenance is gong to happen plus usually are offered a significant discount to play..neither happened ...we are schedule to play The Rise again on Friday (Aug. 29)...all times where booked with out any notification of the course condition(s).
Best condition course in the Okanagan
The course was in great shape from april to October by far the best greens in the Okanagan! The views and wildlife were unreal! If you don't play this course you are missing out! The staff was polite and very helpful! If you like pure fast greens I would head up to The Rise!
The player must utilize the terrain to execute shots and play well.
The Golf Club at Rise has the best views of any course in the Okanagan Valley, period. To score well, one must think his way around the course. Accuracy and precision trump distance and power. And did I mention how beautiful it is up here? As with all courses, first time players will benefit from playing with someone who has played the course before. If you come to the Okanagan and don't play The Rise you will miss out on a great experience.
