Great day but Winter was Rough on this Course
Haven't played Greenacres for several years. Weather was finally perfect after a very long winter, but the course is in pretty rough shape with a lot of mudded-up fairways, still deep and mucky rough, and some greens hit by frost burn (but the price was reasonable for the conditions). The pace was good (for a long weekend Monday morning; 4 hrs 5 mins) and the Course staff were very accommodating and friendly. Lunch afterward was good too! Will be back and no doubt the course will return to better shape as Spring continues.
Harder than it looks
Greenacres is not to be taken lightly. The back nine has 5 holes in a row more than 400 yards. And if you dont bomb it. You better be a good putter. Green were punched and it was more than a week ago, so they were in poor condition. I think this place is great for the money. And for sure a place you should play once in a while.
Cool Windy but Dry
Good day at the course, dried out from the previous round a couple of weeks ago. Still a little muddy in spots, but nothing to be concerned with. Some of the greens have a lot of brown spots and are a little bumpy, which could use a little attention, but we had a good round and will be back.
Great Conditions for Early April
Not in tip top shape, but very playable and great value for a 'city' course. Staff were great. Will be back soon.
Straight forward golf
Enjoyed our round even with the rain that didn’t ever really let up. Good value, fair course, though the course was muddier than expected, low course that doesn’t drain as well due to a high water table. Overall it was decent afternoon of golf. Will return over the later spring and summer.
Great Value and Friendly Staff
Great value for spring golf on a GolfNow Hot Deal. A bit of water on a couple of the fairways, but otherwise a great day! The staff (especially the starters) are super friendly and helpful. Also, the hot dogs (at the Spike Restaurant between the 9th and 10th holes) were great.
Now … only if my score were a bit better!
Greens excellent, sandy patches on fairways
Haven’t played here in 20 years. Thought was in great shape. Especially the greens. Many sandy patches around the greens though. Otherwise loves the large fairways and great conditions
Poor customer relations
2:21 tee time but would not let us take power carts! Says discounted rate so couldn’t ride! Asked us we could pay full rate and they said no, they couldn’t let us anyway!
Expensive for the course
Overall we enjoyed our round but at close to $60 plus cart cost($40) per cart, we found the course just didn’t seem appropriate. Course conditions were just okay.
