Highland Pacific Golf Course

About
Highland Pacific Golf Course is a public championship course that is just a short drive from downtown Victoria. The layout sprawls across rolling hills that provide dramatic elevation changes throughout the course. From the course’s lofty heights, golfers can enjoy scenic views that stretch to the Olympic Mountains, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and Thetis Lake Park. Don’t let the views distract you too much though because the tough design of the golf course will demand all of your attention. It’s a seemingly short layout at just over 6,600 yards but the constant up and down makes it play much longer. Highland Pacific's greens have subtle breaks and the undulating fairways can be tricky as well. There are also a slew of water hazards and strategically placed bunkers to watch out for.

A challenging but tough track worth the fee
I’ve been playing this course for years, in all weather and the course plays amazing no matter the elements. Absolutely well preened and taken care of truly shows the owners dedication and knowledge of the sport. Utilizing the landscapes and contours provides you with challenging lies but once on the greens, so true and rewarding for good putters. If ever in Victoria a must visit as it’s the best value for a public course anywhere in BC. Also, to get you warmed up the driving range is hands down one of the best you’ll ever experience.
Consistently great condition and beautiful scenery
Every time I play HP it's in great condition. The best draining course in the PNW, though on this day drainage wasn't necessary. Early November and it was sunny and 15. Perfect day. HP will challenge you if you try to shoot a number or can be a fantastic escape into the urban forest surrounding Victoria. All in all, one of my favorite courses.
A local favorite
This is definitely a players friendly course. There is some difficulty especially when most of the par 3s are set up for people that can hit 180 yards+. I feel they could be a little better in accomodating hitters that do not have length but overall give you a chance to play with some very fun holes.
This is not an easy course to walk with some very uphill runs. It will tire you out by the end.
There is a good mix of length and playability and features some really cool views. There is some very nice surrounding nature and you really don't ever feel crowded here.
It does play on the harder side but there are plenty of shots out there for all skill levels.
Nice pro shop and staff and a nice little restaraunt for a beer after the round. Practice facility is good with two levels but access is a little tight.
This is a a very central location and is very public and player friendly. well worth a visit during a trip to Victoria.
In the top 5 courses on the island
Really good course, with super friendly staff. This course challenges you for every shot and is not all that forgiving which you can tell if you attempt to go find your ball. Overall it's a little pricey but worth it for sure. Plus there membership deals make things a little better. They have Marshalls and the food cart always driving by to make sure people are moving along.
OMG Course Marshalls
Give us a break. Group of 8 and we're on pace for 4hrs and you tell us to pick it up? If I wanted to play rush golf, I wouldnt play golf at all. Thanks for ruining our golf vacation. Go to Bear Mountain and pay more for a better experience.
2 9's
This is a golf course with two very distinct 9's. The upper is a very interesting, challenging series of holes that are well thought out and make sense. The lower 9 to be polite, is not.
Still enjoyed a lot of it...
Great driving range
Large two level driving range with water makes up for the power cables that run through the course. Other than that, the greens were disappointing, but the fairways were great. Quite challenging, Long walk to the first tee, but is worth checking out if in the area anyway
