Silverado Golf & Country Club
About
Silverado Golf & Country Club is situated just north of Tampa in scenic Zephyrhills. It is a par-71 layout but for low handicappers, it can be extended to a par 72 by turning the lengthy 10th hole into a challenging par 4. The area's natural beauty is defined by the mature oaks that date back over 100 years and the abundant wildlife, including red tail hawks, geese, and foxes. The landscape provides an excellent round of golf, which is further enhanced by the year-round temperate climate. Bunkers treacherously lurk throughout and the occasional water hazard also comes into play. The golf course offers some challenging holes but overall, it is approachable for a range of skill levels. Silverado finishes with a par 4 that requires a difficult carry in order to make it past the pond in the middle of the fairway. Those who strategize carefully will be rewarded with a birdie.

What happened?
Silverado has usually been a course that in at least decent shape at the worst & excellent shape at best. I played at the endnof March & thought it was about as close to its best that I've ever seen it so I figured I was safe playing just 2 weeks later. I couldn't have been more wrong. I knew things would be bad when I got to the first green, which is actually a misnomer since there wasn't much 'green' about it. After that most greens were ok, but very slow. The fairways were dry as could be & lacking in grass in many areas, the sand traps couldn't have been any harder if they had poured concrete mix into them & many tee boxes were much the worse for wear. The only saving grace for the day was the 'hot deal' that made the round just a little more bearable. Sadly, I don't know when I'll chance it & return.
Silverado
Course was in good shape. Some of the greens were still recovering from aeration, but were not bad. Cart paths leave a lot to be desired and our cart was severely under powered.
Great course with some little irritant
The tee off, the approach and the green are in very good shape.
My irritant are that most of the ball cleaning station are dry and there’s no water cooler or fountain to refresh oneself on a warm day..
Damgolf
One of the best courses I have played since being down in Florida
A ok.
Everything was pretty good except for some of the fairways had bare spots. You will enjoy playing there if you like shorter courses.
Golf
Pretty good course for the money. I found that there were too few ball washers (3) that I found and one was dry. Also not many trash cans as most courses I play seem to have one at each tee block. We kept our garbage until the end but there were some people that may have had it fall from their carts. Will be back.
fun round
challenging at times, greens were better than average. good pace of play
