Like Plumas Lak GC
I have been golfing at Plumas Lake GC for over four years. Lately, the course had fallen into disrepair. Recently, a new course management company took over. Thank you!! The rough has been mowed, trees trimmed, sprinklers turned on, and the greens are in very good shape. I like the course because it is remote and away from city noise. There is enough to make it a challenge with trees, water, and a few hills. Overall, I like the course and highly recommend it. Also, after the round, I had a chicken wrap with a beer, and they were terrific.
Tuff Greens
Great place to play. There are discounts available which makes it even better value for the play. We will be back often.
good course
winter conditions, bare spots in fairways. greens spotty.
Value
Course was like a rock. No fairway grass and all greens put cups on a crown
Great layout with lots of potential
Course conditions are not bad overall. Greens are good with a few exceptions. Practice facilities are less than acceptable. I never got the impression that my patronage was appreciated. I would consider a membership if there was an improvement in overall conditions
Broken Hearted
Played yesterday for the first time in about 10 years at this course. It broke my heart to see this gem of a golf course in such a sad state of repair. One of many Bob E. Baldock courses in the area.
Was told it is not really being watered at all, except on Fridays, and around the greens. And that they have a manual watering system, and no electronic irrigation. All fairways were dead, and trees are blocking approaches to many holes, and need to be removed on about 10 of them. It is not being fertilized, aerated or top dressed, all bunkers need to be reshaped. They do not have a maintenance crew, it is being done by volunteers. Was told it has been up for sale and the asking price continues to fall. The course is being played and generating revenue but it is not being spent on course maintenance, which is curious. Staff were friendly but all range mats need to be replaced also.
The only saving grace may be that the city has a stipulation that the land cannot be used for residential development. Whoever buys it would have to close it, and gut it to bring it up to modern standards.
This is one of the last public courses still open in the Yuba City/Marysville area. Southridge and Mallard Lake have closed permanently.
Truly sad.

Tuff Greens
Two out of the foursome had never played here before and had a blast. Great time playing golf.
Good layout
My grandson loves the course. He and his buddy like the wideopen fairways and they can always find their ball. The pace of play is always pretty good. It's it good shape for the winter conditions.
Fairways
I like the course, but the fairways grass is not good. I like to hit down and thru the ball. When grass is wirie and it made you turn the ball over or bounce the club. Hide a bad shot. I played it's when it was one of the best places to play. Would like to see like that again.
Course needs work
Minimal grass, lots of mud. Many greens covered with leaves.
I paid for 3, but only two were able to play. I hoped for a credit too return but that was not allowed. Is there any way to get a credit?

Winter Playing Conditions
Plumas Lake is in it's winter course playing conditions. With bermuda grass fairways, that means brown grass, and due to being an old golf course, a lack of good drainage. A lot of fairway surfaces are muddy with little or no grass. The greens are rolling well, but due to wet conditions have a lot of ball marks on the greens. Being a public course, most middle handicappers and high handicappers do not fix ball marks on greens. Very noticeable. These conditions are expected at this course this time of year. A very tough course even in great conditions. It's playing very tough now, especially on a cool and windy day.
Slow
Staff is great, but pace of play too slow the last two weeks
Hello, thank you for reviewing the course. We would like to apologize for the delay of play during your round. Please know that this is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. With an uncharacteristically full day, we work hard to accommodate everyone who visits our course and allow our guest the chance to complete their rounds. With that in mind, we are working to best control pace and allow everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve and use your comments as guidance in doing so. Thank you for playing Plumas Lake Golf & Country Club. We hope to see you again soon.
Great layout
I love the course. Slow play has had an impact on my decision to play there, but partially due to Covid.
Greens are tough and in good shape. Fairways are very thin and somewhat muddy.

Beautiful winter weather condition was ruined by 4 unruly young players.
With a perfect weather for a round of golf with blue sky but the late fall/winter conditions of the course took away some of the fun and enjoyment. Unrepaired divots and senseless chipping on the fairways did not help either for a good game. Being Saturday in the midst of a holiday season, overbooking couldn’t be helped but some youngsters hitting two or three repeated shots on almost every stroke should be stopped. They should learn the golf rules and ethics first before hitting the first golf balls. I saw the player assistant only after we finished the game. The winter weather was beautiful but those four young players totally ruined and spoiled the game and the day.
Good not great
I won’t be traveling again to play this course. I was so do at best
