Challenge and Beauty what a course
This course is one of my favorite layouts and they have recently improved the greens. This course has high slope rating from all tees and it is well deserved. All of the challenge you need is provided at this course. There are big elevation changes, uneven lies, super fast greens where the read can be deceiving due to many angles that come into play on this mountainous course. For all of the challenge and maybe frustration this course offers; it is balanced by the great scenic views it also provides from most holes. The challenge of the course could get your heart rate up while the beautiful views work to calm and relax you. This course will test your game. The one drawback to this course is that the pace of play can be an issue depending on the time of day that you tee off. This is partly due to the difficulty of the course and that the tee times may be a little too tight. If you're a 12 or higher handicap; make sure you have more balls than usual as this course tends to steal plenty of balls because of its high rough and tight fairways on about 50% of the holes. They have also renovated their clubhouse and restaurant to make the 19th hole the place to be after the round to relax and review the round with friends. The food and service is excellent and the atmosphere is great with it's many flat screens it will rival most great sports bars.
Good course, plan a long day!
Good course, challenging for the weekend warrior. Very slow pace of play.
Great Course for the money!
Fairways were in good shape and greens were smooth and fast. Quite a bit of variation in the hole layout throughout the course, but tha!t lends to the character of the course. Overall, a very nice course at a fair price
Great course but too slow!
At 10 minute spacing between times this should not be a 5+ hour round.
5 hour round
The course was nice, but the pace of play was painfully slow. Talking to the guys we were play with said its always like this. I will not be returning. Too bad because it was a fun layout.
Greens were punched and had no idea till we paid fee . No cooler on cart , no cart girl services , no sand to replace divots .
Poor Pace of Play, Inconsistent Maintenance
Pace of Play: 5-5.5 Hours
-Two-somes would skip around to empty holes that caused back up.
-Ambassador drives around first 4 holes, does not address the back 9 or even maintain pace
-Pace of Play gets scuffed because half the time people are walking. It causes back ups on Par 3s and Par 5s.
Course Condition:
-Rough on Front 9 is so long that if you do not hit the fairway, your ball is lost
-Rough on Back 9 is cut better
It depends on your expectations
It's always been challenging and it's always t s been four condition. The hype of how improved it is must have been compared to the way it was after the winter rain. It's still the same as before. They really do have to do something with the tee boxes. Just horrible condition.
It's still the best value around. Can't take that away.
They really need to get rid of that tree in the middle of the fairway on #10. A nice tee shot is penalized because you have to go under the tree with a low shot with less carry.. I'm sure it's a hallmark of the course but really annoying.
