Great course, horrible staff
Unfortunately I will never golf this course again because of the way my wife and I were treated buy the guy in the pro shop. I say unfortunately because it was a great course. Each hole is very different and very memorable. Many elevation changes, water on many holes. Beautiful views. Sand traps were in great shape. Greens were good too. The fairways were in rough shape, but so are most in NB this year due to the lack of rain. When we checked in we were told, pretty rudely that we couldn't be trusted to take our cart to our vehicle to load clubs. If that's the course policy fine, but don't tell me I can't be trusted to drive a golf cart. Then, after paying we were told we were paired up with another pair of golfers. Which is also fine, but my wife is new to the game and is uncomfortable playing with people she doesn't know. She said she would rather not play. He rudely told me I should have known I was paired up when I booked online. I told him that The Chrono golf app only showed available tee times, not how many spots each tee time had. He argued with me that it does (I tried it again, it does not). He then started slamming things around, huffing and puffing, and treated us very poorly for the next 5 minutes. I believe the starter felt bad and tried to make up for it, but it was too little too late. I will never be back.
This Course is the only golf course I know that has a shared green ie. the 9th and 18th holes share a exceptionally large green.
The course has some difficult holes but at the same time is quite friendly for some higher handicappers. The staff at the pro shop are very friendly. All around good day at the golf course.
Good course
Day after it rained. The course doesn't seem to drain fast as a lot of greens and fairways were still soaked. Liked the front nine better than the back. Would like to try the course again went it is dry.
Must play in Moncton!
Visiting Moncton, NB, for the first time, I was looking to play a couple of rounds. This is the only course that I could find on GolfNow. I got an extremely great rate that included a cart. I went early to hit balls on the range, as I had been told that the course is tight. Check-in was very smooth and I was hitting balls within 5 minutes. The course is in really good shape. The greens were all in great shape and rolled pretty true. The course is challenging and it is fairly tight. A good mix of holes. There are a few holes that must be played strategically. Then there are some that you can bomb away. I played 2 times this week and both times played in under 3 1/2 hours (once as a foursome and once as a threesome.) The routing of the course, especially the back is a little bit different, however, there is very good signage so you will not get lost. I do not recommend walking this track as it is hilly, and there are some distances between some of the greens and next tees. The staff were very friendly and seemed to like their jobs. I will definitely play Mountain Woods again the next time I come to Moncton!
Great day of golf with golf now
Great day of golf and at a bonus price!
Great Value
Course is in decent shape, some nice challenging holes. Will play it again.
good value, some challenge
An enjoyable round. A little slow, might need a marshall.
Mountain Woods Golf Wins Again
My wife and I were on vacation, looking for a new course to play and we decided upon Mountain Woods. The weather was pretty good, overcast and a bit of a breeze, and the rain held off. We were paired up with a great couple from Alberta who were here for the summer. The pace was excellent, he course played well, the greens were running at a good speed, and the tee decks were all really good. We had a great day on the course!!!
