The golf course at Thorncreek Golf Club is a public, 18-hole course in the city of Thornton. The course features 7,268 yards of golf from its longest tees, playing to a par of 72. Designed by Finger Dye Spann, Inc., the course has a links-style layout. A unique aspect of the course is that a street separates the front nine holes from the back nine. Thorncreek Golf Club's signature hole is the par-4, 18th hole, which has a fairway with a water hazard along one side.

Only person playing on the Golf Course on Friday

After the snow we received on Friday (10/18/2013) I called numerous golf courses and they were closed. Throncreek was open only for walkers so I decided to give it a try walking. Been there before and it was the same experience but walking. The course was still in excellent shape and there was no trace of snow on the course. I really lucked out to play on awesome course by myself and I will be back for some more golf there. Very Wide open to find your ball if the rough is cut.

Great for the money.

Honestly I cannot not say too much bad about the course. We paid $20 to ride 18. Overall I feel that Thorncreek is challenging test of golf from the back tees. If the the greens were in better shape I would have improved the rating. Once again for $20 for 18 I can't complain.

Enjoyable Course with large greens

The course layout is great, good greens and undulating. Great pin placements. The only drawback was pace of play. The locals played extremely slow causing over 5 hour round for us. They were not courteous of the group behind. Course conditions were very good. The value was good. One of the best municipal courses in Denver area. Rental clubs price was good but the condition was poor due to not cleaning the clubs before renting.

Puts a premium on accuracy and course knowledge.

Enjoyable course, challenges your accuracy off the tee with narrow fairways and blind tee shots. The rough was cut extremely long. The greens were very well maintained. The three staff members I spoke with were less than cordial, not mean, just a little more gruff than I would expect. Pace of play was very slow, 5+ hours for 18. Not a course high on my list of recommendations for the area. There are better options in the same price range in my opinion.

In good shape

Course was in good shape (and MUCH better) than the last time I played there over a year ago. Staff is friendly. Greens were very receptive due to the amount of rain of late. Some areas of the fairways are under repair but pretty well marked.
Overall I was pleased with the course and will play there again soon.

Loved this Course! Huge greens and the rough is "ROUGH"!

Long fairways and some very challenging shots if you get into the rough. I would recommend this course to anyone.

Thorn in your side

This course has its challenges but its not from golfing. Its the people that play this course. There were four two somes behind us, pressuring us to speed up. What a joke, its not our fault that we had a foursome. The course should have put those other two somes together. we played the front nine in 2 hours and 6 mins. Thats with two seniors. We also played off of three sets of tees. To play that fast on a friday who's to complain. We were pressured with people behind us on every hole. They hit into us several times. We had to wait on the group in front of us as well. There was no where to go. But it still played fast. The staff is not friendly, as soon as we showed up to the driving range, the ball boy which was some grumpy old man was giving everyone orders. I think they forget that we are the guests. Also, there were several dead spots and ground under repair throughout the course. The greens are extremely slow. If your looking for a cheap place to play, you found it. There is a reason why. The name should be changed from thorn creek to thorn in your side.

This could be a great course if better cared for.

I realize we have had a lot of hot weather this summer again. Other courses in the area are in much better condition. Especially for the normal green fees this course is in terrible condition. I won't go back until I know its been improved at any price.

Average Course

It took me over 5 hours to play 18 holes. There were no Marshall's on the course, and the group ahead played from 3 different tees, and took 5-6 tens on holes. Pick your ball up! Pace of play was abysmal. "While we're young".
