Thorncreek Golf Club
About
The golf course at Thorncreek Golf Club is a public, 18-hole course in the city of Thornton. The course features 7,268 yards of golf from its longest tees, playing to a par of 72. Designed by Finger Dye Spann, Inc., the course has a links-style layout. A unique aspect of the course is that a street separates the front nine holes from the back nine. Lakes that are situated on the course create water hazards that come into play on a few holes. Thorncreek Golf Club's signature hole is the par-4, 18th hole, which has a fairway with a water hazard along one side.

While we're young!
We gave up after 10 holes. It was so slow I could see the grass growing between holes. Don't put walkers in front of riders.
The coursre was good but way to much cart path only on the back 9 way to much walk slowed down pace of play
Was a fair course and very slow for a week day round
Take plenty of balls.
This course is much too long for the average player with thick rough and many hazards along the fairways and greens. 400 yard uphill par 4's that require hitting to unseen landing areas result in lost balls and slow play. Grass in fairways is often thin and balls frequently bounce into thick rough.
This course is growing on me
Didn't like this one at first because I seemed to find every bunker. Now that I'm learning to stay clear of those (most times) I'm scoring better and am liking this course more. Trouble on 10 and 11 wrecked my score last time out - guess I needed to play it safe.
Great value for a very challenging course
Course is a bit rough, but it is early in the season, as we've had cold and snow late into the spring. Should be in much better shape later in the summer. Great value for the price.
Good value, fun course
Managed just under 5 hours for a Sunday afternoon! Excellent. Pricing was right on. Thanks!
This course has allowed crab grass to take over several fairways, and they have had a lot of winter kill that they have not replaced.
The course is very interesting and rather challenging, however, the grounds keeper is not doing his job.
Would never go back
Over 6 1/2 hours to complete. Worse golf exsperience ever.
Target golf course.
Greens were in need of water. Lots of very dry tee boxes. Fairways were in dry or missing grass in many places. Need to maintain the rough.
Early season, course needs some TLC
Played on May 16th and it had rained the night before. There are still alot of dead/muddy spots. This is an average municipal course. The pace of play was very good (at 1:30 in the afternoon) which has been an issue in the past for this course. Not a bad place to play, but I would not go out of my way to play here. With the hot deal tee time it was worth the price and it is one of the closer courses to me, so I will probably play it again later in the year.
Course needs more care
Tee boxes were not level and the grass was high. Fairways were in poor condition. Cups were beat up and needed to be moved.
Course was fun and challenging
I really enjoyed playing this course, the layout was fun and challenging while still aproachable. The pace was a little rough, and the fairway could use a little work. However for the price I recieved here on GolfNow it was well worth it.
Good vaue for the cost.
Well designed layout that winds its way through a residential development. Tight fairways, challenging greens, a shotmakers kind of course.
The course is in great shape for time of year.
The course was in pretty good shape. Greens were in great shape especially for being aerated recently. Fairways were dry and dead in some areas which made great tee shots become difficult for the next shot.
Good value
Greens are mostly smooth. Course in fairly good shape. Fairways do need some TLC in spots. Fantastic value off of golf now. Played city park in the am and carried and then carted it in the pm for 11.99 at thorn creek. Yes 11.99 with cart. So 38 bucks for 36 holes on a gorgeous spring day. Played the whites and shot 87. Some greens were too fast and would not hold a perfect chip. This is a hard course from the blues. 6700 yards and tight in spots. Pepsi on the course was a dollar!!!!! I was like a DOLLAR to the cart girl!!!! So used to getting ripped off at other courses where it is 3 bucks and a 1 buck tip!
Excellent Value!
Great course, great value. Excellent variance between championship and novice tees, which makes this course challenging for players at every level. Very well maintained.
Has a nice variety of holes
The fairways need attention -- we didn't think they should be charging as much money since they were in such poor condition. But we do like this course.
Greens were in good condition
Other than the putting surface being in good condition, the next best part was the bunkers. The fairways had lots of dead grass, some not mowed, and much of the fringe and grass around the greens looked dead. Maybe it's just because it's early in the season, but the fairways could use some work.
Pretty Decent Course
This course was pretty decent, when we arrived and went to hit a bucket of balls, there was not a lot of mats available at the driving range, and the ones that were had no tees, so I was was forced to hit warm up balls off the mat, which isn't that terrible, but there could have been more mats in my opinion. The pace of play was a bit slow, we had to wait at nearly every hole for the group in front of us, there were even holes that we arrived at and the group in front of us was waiting to tee off, but I'll chalk that up to it being one of the first beautiful weather days of the spring. The thing I didn't like about the course is that it seemed that on almost every hole, there are houses on both sides of you, some of which were extremely close to the course, so if you tend to hook or slice your tee shots, get ready to start shouting "Sorry about your house". The course is fairly challenging, but I think most of that was in the fact that it was lined with houses. If you can play this course at a discount, then go for it, just make sure you do on a day you know it won't be busy.
