Myrtle Creek Golf Club

About
Myrtle Creek Golf Club, formerly known as Cougar Canyon Golf Course, is nestled within the beautiful Umpqua Valley. Surrounded by winding creeks and rolling hills, you'll feel like you're miles from civilization but the course is conveniently located just off of I-5. Graham Cooke and Wayne Carleton designed the layout, routing a classic links design across undulating countryside with spectacular views from almost every angle. You won't come across too many flat lies and the elevations on the greens are especially tricky to navigate. The no. 1 handicap hole on the golf course is the par-4 seventh. This intimidating hole has a narrow landing area in front of the green, making long approach shots risky. Myrtle Creek Golf Club also offers a driving range and short game area with a chipping green and practice bunker.

A hidden gem
On our way through the west coast states and we chose this course from the reviews online. It certainly disappoint us.
We had an pretty early tee time and had the course to ourselves for the front nine.
The scenery was outstanding, the greens were in excellent shape, and we loved the elevation changes that it provided. Plenty of wildlife on this morning to grab your attention.
Awesome golf course
You would not expect this kind of beauty from the way you have to get here. You drive through some very old and run down neighborhoods in the very old town of Myrtle Creek.
This BEAUTIFUL course is set in 2 canyons (South and East) and is very hilly. It is gorgeous here, and the views are incredible. There are several types of wildlife to see and enjoy the company of.
The sand traps are a little odd, they are not sand at all. They are more like finely ground granite which makes it hard to judge how to hit the ball out. of.
The Pro shop is very minimal, the cafe is very small and limited (It also opens way too late, they need to open for breakfast), but the staff is EXCELLENT and friendly. This course really is one of my favorites.
I am looking forward to going back real soon.

AWESOME golf course!!!
This course is Gorgeous! I love the hills, canyons and everything about it.
Words cannot describe a good beautiful this course is.
The greens were immaculate and putted well.
The only thing I didn't care for are the bunkers. The sand is not sand but it's like very very small gravel.
Your thoughts about the sand traps was the same as mine. I described it as finely ground granite.
Check out my review and photos.
Beautiful Views
A well maintained course up against the mountains of Oregon. Friendly staff, nice pace of play at a fair price. The views are fantastic. Excellent greens.
This course is superb
This course is fun, challenging, beautiful, peaceful, and is in excellent condition. Not only do the greens have the perfect amount of moisture to keep them relatively soft, but they are also perfectly smooth to allow the ball to roll quick and true. Also, the service is superb! This course has it all!
