Great course
The course was great.My only problem was that it says no coolers.But the snack bar was closed at 6 when we made the turn.Also all the water coolers were empty.So nothing to drink at all on the course on a warm day.
Challenging course with great views
This course is a little bit of a drive from Knoxville, but it's worth it. The tees, fairways, and greens were all great! The bunkers need a little attention, however. The sand was really hard packed, and some of the bunkers looked like they had been washed out.
We played as a threesome on a Sunday afternoon, and didn't have to wait until we got to the back nine. The foursome ahead of us let us play through, and we finished in about 3 hrs, 40 mins.
Beautiful layout and scenic views
The layout is great. The course is beside the lake with beautiful views. The practice facilities are awesome.

The course is a pretty open course that is forgiving on most miss shots... Well maintained
Poor pin placements
This was my first time playing this course. ALL of the pins were placed on the front of the greens. Within 10 feet of the front edge. No variation. I have never played a course that did that. I like the layout of the course, but will ask about the pin placement before I go back.

slow play misery
Round took over 5 hours to complete. Started round out badly with 3 groups on 2nd hole (par 3) and never got any better. Par 5's had 4 groups backed up on each hole. Finally called clubhouse on 14th tee and got poor response with no indicated desire to speed up play. All it takes is to have a ranger come out and identify the slow play culprits and require the slow group(s) to skip a hole (or 2) to speed things up!!
Later sent 2 follow-up emails to course on slow play issues and never rec'd any kind of reply - so I decided to go ahead and submit this negative review anyway.
This is way too nice of a course to be managed so poorly with no concern for customer service...shame.
Great conditions
Course was in great shape, recent rains obviously are a great help. We vacation in this area every year in late July, Rarity Bay was one of the better courses we've played.
