From the practice green you can see parts of over half the holes on the front nine. Photo submitted by Back9Ben on 07/15/2017
Great course
First time I've played Bristol Manor in more than 10 years as I've moved. The course was in great shape and the greens awesome! Medium speed but soft enough to hold the ball. Will definitely look to play there again next time through. Didn't catch the name of the fellow in the pro shop but is a retired teacher new to the area. Thanks!
A quite a bit slow due to the high winds.
Layout and staff always fantastic. Pace of play was way off today. Most likely due to the very heavy winds making course conditions difficult. Greens still not back yet after aeration, even after the rain lately. Wasn't stated that the top dressing would impede the consistency and speed of greens. I’m sure anything after April 16ish will be fine. Don’t not pass up the opportunity to play here.
Gorgeous course and a tough test of golf
I hadn't played Bristow Manor before and I'll definitely be back! Really A++ course design - I used almost all the clubs in my bag, and all of the holes require both strategic thinking and shotmaking. With water on 12 of 18 holes and lots of less than driver tee shots, you have to be very confident hitting your lines. The course definitely forces long-range approach play given that many of the fairways run out at ~230 yards, forcing longer approach shots in the 180-190yd range.
Given how wet it has been recently, the course was in excellent condition. The fairways definitely had some wet spots and standing water, but the greens were well drained, if a little long/shaggy in places. The rough was extremely penal, particularly around the greens - it was around 3-4" with no real semi-rough to speak of. I'm usually proficient in up and downs, but missing the green exacted a real penalty.
Definitely not a course for beginners, as evidenced by the two very slow beginner golfers in my group.

Good course, questionable management
The course was in nice shape, value was good for a Saturday round. Only problem is how this place is managed. First off there was a 2 hour frost delay which is the longest delay I have ever heard of especially when the previous nights temps were in the 40’s. The course sent a text alert about it but it didn’t include an amount of time for the delay. Then when told how long I decided to hit range but they wouldn’t allow me to move my assigned cart and drive to the range. I was told I would have to take everything out of the cart and walk to the range then come back to the same cart and reload all my stuff. So after the delay they were not very accommodating at all. On top of it all one of the staff members told me the delay was really just the grounds crew dragging their feet and not getting morning duties done.
The real joy was the friends made along the way. Sorry about the 8-some down 18! Go dawgs!!
Excellent golf course
Little far for me living in Tysons area, but great course for the price. It is beautifully designed and well maintained throughout. It has some nice 400+ yards par 4, that is really challenging.
Thank you so much for the great review. We are glad you had an incredible time, and we hope to see you again soon! Thanks for choosing Bristow Manor Golf Club.
Needs work
Used to love this course but it was in terrible shape on 03/15/24. I don’t think they have done any work on the course for the new year yet. Greens were awful with putts bouncing all over the place and fairway length grass. Many bunkers were completely full of water and unplayable. Going to give it a few months before going back. Hot dogs were good though.

Always Good!
Bristow is in my top 5 in NOVA. The conditions are always very good from tee to green. The staff are friendly and the draft beer is cold. What more could you want? My only continuing nitpick is the Gold tee box on the par 3 3rd hole. It has had a serious crown to it for as long as I can remember. Please flatten it out. I'll def be back!
Thank you so much for the great review. We are glad you had an incredible time, and we hope to see you again soon! Thanks for choosing Bristow Manor Golf Club.
This course was challenging but can be more fun once you play it a second time
I enjoyed every hole even though I didn’t play to the best of my ability. I will be back because of how nice the layout was and how great the ball rolled on each and every green.
Thank you so much for the great review. We are glad you had an incredible time, and we hope to see you again soon! Thanks for choosing Bristow Manor Golf Club.

I like this course maybe on season!!!!
At that time was so wet every where....soggy !!! .I think not a good drain system
Beautiful greens
Cart path only like most courses right now. Greens were fantastic. I will be returning soon.
Winter Time Gripes
$60…
Front nine in 2 hours.. not bad
Back nine in 2 hours and 40 mins… could be better
No course Marshall or starter
Course layout is unique
Par 5s are not attackable in 2
Couple par 3s play super long
Conditions…
Where to begin?
It is still winter, I know this, however, I don’t think they have mowed the greens or raked bunkers since summer 2023…
Terrible green speed, visually they look good but not the best to roll putts on
Bunkers either have too much sand or none at all with literal boulders in them
Drainage on the course is an issue, no rain for a week and there’s plenty of standing water
Cups look like they were cut a while ago, integrity of the edges were terrible
No sand on the carts to fill divots in fairways
Tee boxes were surprisingly immaculate
This course when taken care of can be awesome for fun, I just wouldn’t go out of the way to play it regularly since the conditions have been like this pretty consistently as of the last 6 months.
After Christmas round
Course was wet from the rain but still nice to play. Bristow is my go to course always a fun time when I’m there.
