The worst golf course I have ever played! All the greens are "yellow" and grass has died. No maintenance at all. Avoid this course.

Played this course probably 50 times over the past 5 years as a course resident. This is a great PB Dye layout with great potential. This was first time playing since it was purchased by new owners 2yrs ago. The first Indicator about the course condition was that the practice green was in aweful shape. It was uncut and virtually unputtable!
The tee boxes are all unkept with tall grass around the perimeter. Fairways were also unkept and were similar in length to the first cut of rough on most good courses on the area. ALL of the greens were unkept and needed to be cut. They were ridiculously slow to putt on that I gave up trying.
Since I live on the course its sad to say that the course is unfortunately doomed to possibly the same fate as Goose Creek! The owners should be ashamed to have let this gem go!

This course used to be a course we played frequently. They've run it into the ground. Closes June 1. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY...they should be paying people to play this. Greens are dead, bumpy and are dirt. They don't care. Virginia oaks...you deserved better.

I live on VA oaks. When I moved there in 2006, it was a top rated course. In about 2012 there was a heat wave and drought that killed the grass. Back to back winter storms also hurt the course. It took some time to rebound, but in that time, players stopped going there and the throughput was not enough to cover the maintenance. In ~2015, another company took over, but put all the money into the clubhouse and not the course itself. In fact, it appears they ran out of money. Now, no maintenance was being done resulting in the closure of the course. The pictures people post now are after the decision to close the course and no longer maintain it. Hopefully, new management will take over and revitalize the course. If so, give it another chance! It was a beautiful course!

Virginia Oaks used to be a great place to play and a good value. Not anymore. This course has been neglected and is in horrible condition. Cow pasture-like rather than well-maintained and cared-for. I have no idea what happened or why but it is apparent people are staying away. Empty parking lot and few players where it used to be busy and active. Unfortunately I can not see why anyone would want to play there under the current conditions. PB Dye would be appalled.

This course used to be good; however, the owners have let the course go to the dogs. The greens or should I say the browns were extremely slow and bumpy. The tee boxes were fair, the rough was absolutely horrendous with glumps of weeds or just dirt. Really wasn't worth half of what we paid. Used to be a very nice course but it needs a great deal of work.

This course has a beautiful layout, but it seems as if they don't have the money to maintain it properly. Everything is either over grown or dead and dry. I hope someone either buys this or they get an influx of cash to take care of this course the way it should be.

This course looks like a course but hasn't been taken care off so it's terrible!! A waste of money. It's a shame cause it's a pb dye layout. Don't waste your money unless a beginner and need a place to drive and hit irons. The greens rarely have grass on them

It was my favorite place to play golf until 4years ago. It is surrounded by the Lake Manasses and the layout is wonderful. However the condition of the course became worse and worse. Our group (we play every week)missed this course and played here last week, hoping its improvement. We all were so sad and disappointed by the condition of the course. What made this happened? Poor management may...... We hope it gets better and come back to play again.
