Beautiful property
Three nines built into a beautiful property with rolling hills, some water and some forced carries over a bog. The greens are generous and well maintained. The fairways are in good shape but strangely muddy...both times I've played there. The course is well maintained for a public facility ...not up to the level of a private club but not bad. The negative was the pace of play. Not sure what happened...the first nine (Middle) was just about 2 hours but when we started the second nine (Lakeland) suddenly there were 4 groups on number 2. It was painfully slow after that. Of course no rangers to straighten things out.
Nothing I liked
Won’t see another review from me anywhere about anything. There simply isn’t a single thing I liked about this course. Top to bottom bad experience.
Average Course
Course is under staff, no beverage cart or beverage station over 18 holes. Fairway condition is OK, green condition definitely need some improvement. Cart path is not paved. Overall not recommend unless there is a good deal.
It’s been a while
I played some junior golf here so nice to go back and see it again. The Middle and Lakeland nines are great and the Homestead nine coming in third of the three. The layout is challenging and the conditions were good but poor sand conditions keep the rating good not great. Will return here soon.
Tough greens
Be prepared to face some putting challenge.
Bring your best game.
Fairways and greens are well maintained.
Loss of tree lines let you test your flight shaping skill.
Overall a very enjoyable experience.
Greens were in excellent shape. Sand traps need some maintenance, don’t like all the dog legs and definitely don’t like trees in the middle of the fairway
Dog legs
The greens were in excellent shape and the course is maintained well. Still some dead trees need to be cleaned up.
The course has too many dog legs for me and I don’t like trees located in the middle of the fairways.
