Interesting small greens
Beautiful course conditions. Greens are small and interestingly contoured making up for the lack of length. Very enjoyable.
Another Great Day
We tried this course for the first time about 6 weeks ago and came back because the value for the quality of the course is exceptional. We paid $40 through GolfNow and that included the cart.
The course is a nice challenge and well manicured. They had recently punched the greens but the ball still rolled quite true.
Will be going back for sure.
Aeration alert - no notification
first time and unfortunately maybe last... I was very much looking to give this track a go as I've heard good things overall. However, the experience was less than desirable given the recent aeration and heavy sanding on greens. While I totaling appreciate the need and benefits associated with aeration and course maintenance programs but their needs to be transparency and communication. No booking notification, no check in notification it was the starter just prior to tee off that shared that key piece of information :-(
Settlers Ghost Review
Absolute best bang for your buck in the greater Barrie area. The course suits both long and short golfers and is always in fantastic condition. Foods great and the staff are always friendly. The only complaint I hear about this course is that there are too many blind shots; while this is true, once you play it a few times and become familiar with the layout it will quickly become one of your favourites in the area. The only thing I recommend is that they put bells or some kind of signals in place to accommodate for the many blind tee shots on this course.
Awesome morning on the course
Everything about this course is awesome. You need to put it on your list
The course was in great shape. The fairways were great like playing on a carpet couldn't even see a weed. Greens were fast just the way they should be. Pin placements were challenging. Tee blocks were in good shape. The people that worked there however didn't seem to be to happy or friendly but I really didn't care as I was there to golf not socialize. The wait staff and the starter were however very pleasant. Great value for the money I would definitely recommend.
Greens are too fast
Overall, I used to love this course but for the last month or so the greens have been extraordinarily fast which makes for a very frustrating game. Also, Marshalls come around but don’t do anything about slow non-riding foursomes that hold up scores of players behind them. When we brought this issue to the Marshall he stated that the slowpokes were still “on time” - perhaps they should reevaluate the time it takes to complete each hole or tell the slowpokes to move up a tee box because they were clearly not good golfers. I won’t be going out of my way to golf here until the greens’ speed has become more reasonable.
Great course
Fun course to play. Very hilly. Would be a difficult walk.
Great condition. Good greens.
Agree with other reviews, quite a few blind tee shots.
Mean greens
Played this course for years. Always a nice time because it didn’t beat you up, But these last two months the greens have been so fast and several difficult pin locations. Took the enjoyment out of it!
PLAY IT EVERY VISIT TO THE AREA
I play this course every visit to the area. Starter placed me with a nice husband and wife couple. Played to well kept fairways and greens. I'm a pretty straight ball striker but if you're not beware of blind tee shots and approaches to the greens. I had to help Pete and Jo look for balls in the rough a couple of times. I miss the landmark barn. Sorry to hear it imploded.
