Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Classic greens remain healthy after all these years. Good place to sneak some practice in too.
Good course I'm able to play here almost everyday great price.
The secret is it's a really good course.
I generally play this as a 9 hole but decided to go around twice. It's a nice enough course that it's not boring doing it again. I've met a number of very nice people while playing. Some of the players are rather old, but they never seem to mind to let others play through. Greens are on the fast side and are very well maintained. Good sand in the traps.
This course is good to get in and out and play a round of golf. Awesome for someone new to the game who wants to learn. More of a easier course compared some of the other around the area.
Good course for beginners
Overall a fair course to help with your fundamentals.
Good Course and a Good Deal
This is a nice 9 hole course. The greens are in good shape and somewhat challenging. The fairways were a little better than some this time of year. Overall, a good course.
Just brought irons, I was surprised on how well the small greens were maintain. Few holes that you need to watch out fir other golfers so you don't get hit with golf balls flying from other golf holes. I think few holes they need to change from par 4's to par 3's for safety issues. Staff was helpful,
Golf and Family friendly
I find it a challenging and enjoyable experience. Ventura County offers a lot of great and affordable golf courses. But, for courteous accomodation and caring staff, I would rank Saticoy Regional high in satisfactory and friendliness.
Gary, Thousand Oaks
Greens in good condition. This is a friendly course for the average golfer, no serious trouble.
Few bare spots on fairways , the rest are all great
Short, slow greens but excellent value on Golfnow.com
Usually at a 9 hole course you get slow play, not here. Played 18 holes in 3 hours. Perfect Saturday morning round. apperance is a little to be desired, but holes are challenging including the very slow but well kept greens.
Back to back par 3's is difficult as the 2nd one is extremely short and makes you rethink a 3/4 wedge. Very few people in our little tournament par that hole!
You want a quick , morning value round- play here.
a nice 9- hole stroll
This is a nine hole course that is very easy to walk with maintained fairways and greens. Layout is compact, always within sight of the small and limited clubhouse. Excellent course for young players learning the game. It is surprising that such a small course has all the practice facilities found at regulation length courses.
Nice Little Course
This is not a full 18 hole course....it is very small and it is an easy 9 holes...you can play 18 by playing the 9 twice of course. I took my 12 yearl old son with me...he's just a beginner..and we had a great time. The course is maintained well for the price they charge...and there are a couple of holes where bad shots can ruin your score..just like anywhere else. I do recommend this course; mostly because it is so laid back.
I have not used golf now for a while but remember that I could pay the full price thru GN. Now, I find that GN only takes out the amount to cover making the t time and the rest is due at the course. ALSO, The course gave us the seniors rate that was less then the GN rate. Times and things change I guess.
GREAT COURSE FOR SHORT GAME!!!
I really enjoyed this course. It was a great deal and I plan to continue to use this course as my short game practice.
Course was in good shape and pretty good deal. Didn't expect cart to be included in the deal wouldn't mind walking the course.
Fun course, easy to walk, course in good condition
Good challenge for the money
I thought we would get to play the original George Thomas layout, but we found out that three of the original holes had been chopped up to facilitate a couple baseball fields, what a shame. Still a good bang for the buck.
Pleasant 9 hole course.
My son and I played there for the first time on Sunday, 4/28/13. I found it to be a pleasant experience with a friendly staff. The fairways were OK and the greens were great although a little tricky. It certainly is a good place to tune up your game. There are two par 5 holes and five par 3 holes. There is a little something for everyone. So if you want to practice your short game or just want to play 9 Saticoy Regional C.G. just might be to your liking.
Lots of easy fun!
If you just want to have some fun, get some exersise, (easy to walk) and don't have a tremendous amount of time to devout to playing, this is your course. Nice driving range. Some longer holes, and some elevation in such a small course, makes this somewhere you want to try.
