A very good golf course
In the city but provides a feel of the wilderness- great course. 16th island green is the signature hole!
First round of the year
Not bad for first time this year was a little shaky at the start then got better
Yes the winter break will do that! Thanks for the review and playing!
GOLF course
Excellent game and course was 100% condition would love to play it again. If you are looking for beautiful greens you have to play this one
Thanks!
Course in great shape...
Green aerated... there were some tree debris on the pathways and in course but no biggy.
Course was quite empty for some reason.
Value for the course shape was a little out of whack....
Love this course either way but should have been a bit cheaper based on season and shape of greens.
Thanks, it has been a tough start to the season with snow until April 21st. Typically by that point we have cleaned debris and cut the greens. This year has been one of the latest starts ever.
Tough course!
On the scorecard it states the Masters course is rated one of the toughest courses in Ontario. It definitely lives up to that billing. Not for the faint of heart or the occasional player because the course will “beat you down.” Quirky layouts and narrow fairways make this a difficult course. I’m an occasional player and I felt pretty crushed by the end of it. It’s a nice course that’s well maintained with good pace of play but I would only recommend to those who are good golfers. Weekend duffers should take heed.
Course was in great shape and very enjoyable to play. Looking forward to my next round there
Great Fast Round in perfect weather
Pleasantly surprised that I completed a round in just over 4 hours, that is a first at Lionhead, where it tends to be very busy when the weather is good
Thanks!!
Nice course, but extremely slow round!
The course was in good condition. The bunkers were not flat or raked. Every time I was in a bunker, I did not get a flat lie. I always found a spot in between mounds in the bunker. It took almost 5.5 hours to play, which especially in September is totally unacceptable. I saw maybe 1 Marshall driving around, so apparently they were not worried about speeding up pace of play.
This is the third time playing the course this year. The past 2 times were great - this is a good golf course and a good value for $85. We typically golf here at least two or three times per year.
Labor Day Monday there were too many people on the course, and it was not being managed. When we got to the 14th tee after 4+ hours, there was a foursome on the green, a foursome on the fairway, a foursome ahead of us on the tee ,the foursome behind us were leaving the green, with a group behind them in sight to make their approach.
We ended up leaving as we all had things to do and didn't have the time for a 6+ hours game. It was disappointing - the last time I played here, we played the course in just over 4 hours.

Great Day of golf.
Course conditions were perfect, fairways on point, greens perfect. Food at the restaurant was incredible, there will be days just to go for the food. Only complaint was their range scenario, couldn't bring Cart to range so a bit annoying to have to carry clubs to the range. Overall an excellent course , will definetly be back.
Great track - great price
Course was in great shape. Slow foursome of beginner golfers in front of us, Marshall encouraged them to pick up the pace.
They stopped for lunch so we jumped ahead and completed the round in just over four hours.
Highly recommend this course,.
Great setup overall. Could use a few tweaks. Play it before its gone!
Lots of friendly staff to help with setting up the bags/carts. Just drive up and pop your trunk and they'll look after your bag while you park.
Course is very nice, back 9 being nicer. Greens were just ok, I expected them to be faster. But they are massive, so you should be able to hit them easily enough.
One thing I love about this course is the way course information is displayed, both the rocks showing the hole details and sign posts telling you where the next teeboxes are. Some courses fail in this regard but Lionhead does it best.
Pace of play was a little slow for a weekday, but I think this is mainly down to the fact that the other 18 was booked up with a big outing of what looked like 60+ players. About 5 hrs total with cart.
One major peeve I would have with this course is the bunkers are terrible. The sand is not deep and are full of rocks. My playing partner damaged his SW in the bunker on 18, dented a groove in fact. I realize some courses want the 'natural' elements in a golf course but not at the expense of damaging someone's club.
I'll play Legends next week, as that looks to be the better track, hoping bunkers are better ( or else I should just try avoid being in any :) )
Word on the street is that 9 holes from the masters course will be developed into housing in the next few years.
This course has 36 championship holes in fantastic shape and a must to play .
Thanks! We like 16 too!
