This course was fun to play...
Pace of play was great (3 hours and 10 minutes for 18 holes gold/blue), the holes are not overly challenging but fairways and greens are in good condition. The only thing I would change would have been to walk, it's was $28 for a single rider on power cart. Overall, good experience.
We will never return
The staff were unexpectedly rude. The gentleman that did the Covid safety check and the lady that was working in the pro shop.
I will never return to Doon Valley.
Course could be more challenging
Enjoyed playing here again. Lots of changes since I last did some 20 odd years ago. Course layout has changed from 18 holes to a (3) 9 hole layout, the result being that the course plays a lot shorter than before. Probably not a big problem for your average weekender but a more seasoned player might find the course a lot less challenging. All in all the course was in great shape with some well manicured sloped greens. Pace of play was about average but as the course was not overly busy I am hesitant to say that on a busy day I would have the same favourable opinion. But, I had a nice day playing here and I look forward to playing here again, but next time from the blue tees.
Rude staff and aggressive
Played a round of golf as a foursome, 2 riders and 2 walkers where we finished in 3 hours 45 mins. The lady starter was rude, aggressive and unprofessional with her comments numerous times. Kids behind us playing music and running around course while marshal decided was proper golfing etiquette. Course wasn’t difficult as it was a short course. 76 was a good score but price not worth the course and u professional conduct.
The course needs more professional conduct and staff development.
Too expensive
$27.50 for one person on a poorly working cart is too much. Put heavy plastic between people on the cart.
Staff unprofessional
Starter was rude and grumpy, and her conduct was unprofessional to our foursome While not wearing a mask. The starter a few weeks ago was wearing a mask and he had everything under control.
We had two walkers and two in a cart that were playing well and had a good pace. However the teenagers behind us were running around, throwing the golf balls, playing music during the round, and rushing us by complaining to marshal. The Marshal decided to confront our pace instead of watching our pace. After a yelling match, he followed us around until he realized we were not the problem.
Again a few weeks ago, the pace was much slower and we didn’t complain because of new golfers learning the game. It is amazing how two staff members can change the perspective of a course because of their attitude. If you don’t want to work there, don’t or pretend and be professional. As for the course, it is short but good for newer golfers or helping short game.
Decent track
In good shape. Pretty short but greens are good. Just a bit overpriced in prime hours.
Forgiving course but shallow holes
this is a very forgiving course and well maintained. The only issue I had was with the actual holes ...... I’ve never seen such shallow holes to where your ball constantly pops out unless it falls really slowly ( really weird ) But besides that it was a lot fun to play at and the staff is one of the best.
Great Course but the layout was very tight
We enjoyed our round of golf as the course was well kept. Not many hazards but the water was definitely a challenge which was fun. The staff were incredible and we would like to thank them for their help and guidance as this was the first time at this course. The pace of play was good there was a couple behind us that kept trying to push us however there was no where to go as there were groups in front. Whatever you will get that but we don't let that bother us with our play. The biggest concern was the layout of the course. Very tight which made it quite unnerving that you could get hit with a stray ball. There were several times where it was a very close call. All said we'd like again to thank the staff for making this a pleasurable experience.
Unfair Practices around Power carts
While I like Brookfield I was really disappointed to see that Golf North has decided to claw back some lost revenues by gouging on cart prices. With Covid19 sharing a cart wasn't an option so 2 carts cost us $54 , almost as much as the round itself. Make up your minds , either you charge by the rider or you charge for the cart but please don't flip flop when it's convenient for you. I will be intentionally avoiding Golf North Courses this summer as a result.
Very Friendly Staff
Course was in great shape and check in was pretty straight forward. Greeters, pro shop and on course staff were all very friendly. Pace of play was steady. Thanks for a great day on Father's Day weekend!
Value course
Just played 9 Blue course, we’ll maintained and fun course!
Always a good course
Course is always well maintained. Steady pace. 27 holes makes it easier to stop backing up
