You Get What You Pay For
Got Hot Deal for $21 and I am being kind to say the course was in very poor shape. Use to be member at this course several years ago and unfortunately new ownership has ruined the course. Fairways are full of burned out/ dead grass areas, greens are patchy and rough with weeds and the bunkers are not bunkers (full of weeds and patches of grass). It is a shame that the owners have ruined what use to be a nice course!!
Saw Mill Golf course
Course conditions were fair until you got to the greens. They will have to spray for weeds. Greens were extremely slow. Still had no usable bunkers that were full of weeds. With some work, they can bring this back to a very nice course.
Improving
They are doing the right things. Bringing the course back to its prior splendour. But it will take time.
Best of all they have a basic lunch with beer.
Disappointed
Played the course when it first opened went back to try it again .it's in poor condition greens are almost dead weeds growing in some of them. The bunkers are unplayable due to weeds a foot high the fairways are burned out and the tees are like playing out of the rough it's not worth the money the whole place is run down looks like it's about to go under it needs somebody to buy it and rebuild the whole place
Better
New superintendent is doing all that he can to bring course back to its once glory.
But still need time.
Used to be nice
If to e a top notch course, great layout, fantastic greens, well maintained. Last owner who had it for 4 years ran out into the ground, never put money back into the course, had skeleton crew, no greens keeper. Last 2 years the greens, sand traps and tees all covered in cover sand weeds. Club house not available for food and beverage.
Sad!
Played this course years ago and it was a gem. One of the finest courses in the area, but that was then. Sad to see what it’s become. Clearly, the owners just don’t care about the course or the opinion of those who visit their establishment.
So sad to see this beautiful course in this condition.
I've played it many times but not since covid hit.
Apparently there are new owners that are trying to get the course back into shape.
Condition and amenities
Bathrooms are dirty, no washrooms on course and it was a wind storm and we didn’t get any money back.
Sand traps are full of weeds and greens are furry and patchy
Sawmill Has Potential
Rather than focus on the things that are obvious, greens need work, bunkers are in bad shape, I will focus on the potential for Sawmill. Wide fairways, big greens
and some nice water challenges. I played today and the first thing I noticed was the tee boxes were fertilized, the grass around the greens and fairways had been mowed. And most importantly, the greens were fertilized, I understand that the greens will be aerated and top dressed next week. This course has so much potential, I played it years ago and it was beautiful, it could be like that again.
Course in very poor condition
Avoid playing here as the course is in totally terrible condition.
Dandelion farm.
Dandelions on greens that haven't seen water all spring. A wasteland on what could be an interesting course
Field of (Dandelions) not Dreams
There is a reason nobody plays Sawmill - the conditions. The weeds have spread from the fairways onto the greens. The greens are rock solid - is the sprinkler system even working.
Pay the extra & play elsewhere.
Course Has declined a Lot
Used to be a member was a great course but was bought and the new management knows nothing about golf courses. Once beautiful greens are now pathetic and fairways aren't being properly cared for rough is a weed patch. Sand traps are full of weeds and are unplayable, Breaks my heart to see what has happened here.
