Course Gone Downhill
As a former member I was shocked at how much the owners (who bought the course a few years ago) have managed to wreck what use to be a nice, well maintained course. The bunkers are full of grass and weeds and the greens are fuzzy and full of weeds. Real disappointment!
Sawmill
Greens hairy and bumpy traps and flowerbeds unkept, was told property in receivership which would explain conditions.
This course has the potential to be a first class course which it was in the past. It has been neglected very badly & needs lots of tlc
Playable course
It’s well known that this course has degraded significantly over the last 3 years but it is still playable if you want to get out and hit the ball. Green fees are now very inexpensive but about right considering the condition.
Zombie Apocalypse???
Played course for $13.50 incl tax and booking fees so how could I be disappointed?
The weeds in the parking lots were the first cue that this course had been abandoned long ago. If this was 6 -12 months into a zombie apocalypse I would have been glad to find it in this shape.
Greens were shaggy, lumpy and bald patches. Tee decks were a touch worse than the greens. The fairways were patchy and hard to determine where the fairway ended and the rough began.
I played this course 18 years ago and it has a nice links style layout with several tee decks to appeal to different players. Over the years there must have been several owners come and go.
Disappointing.
Sawmill Creek
This was a really nice and well maintained course several years ago. I believe there are new owners now and the course layout is is still what it was but it has been drastically neglected. Such a shame for a once beautiful course
What a shame
Fantastic layout, but the course is being neglected. What a shame!
For $16/round, this course is interesting enough to get me to come back.
Manage your expectations. Come with an open mind and you will have a good time.
Sure has gone downhill
This was one of the best courses around two years ago now they have the nerve to charge $40 .The greens are full of winter kill and all the fescue is nothing but weeds. The buildings look like they have been abandoned for years.
Save your money and go somewhere else.
Good Course, but condition of course is poor
Last played Sawmill Creek about 10 years ago. Was in great shape back then. Course layout is still great, but it does appear as though the course is going through some tough times. Condition of course was not bad, but was certainly far from great. Greens were a bit bumpy and the tee off areas had some weeds growing out of them. And the bunkers? They were weed filled with hard pan sand -- have not been raked for years it looks like. It's too bad because the course is a links style course and is a nice lay out.
Wow
Played this course several years ago and enjoyed it, today was a total surprise to see how bad this course has been let go.
The tee blocks are overgrown, the fairways are in very bad condition and the greens are absolutely deplorable.
Stay away.
Dilapidated
There are no Covid contraptions on the flag sticks. One flag wouldn't stay in the hole. The bunkers are overgrown and un-kept and at times it was hard to tell where the fairway was.
It was worth a try
Looks like this course can be an excellent course. The layout would make a great challenge. But, they have a lot of work to do. Greens were very bad and the bunkers could not be used.(mud or weeds)
Neglected
Sawmill Creek has abandoned any effort to maintain its course. I cannot believe how neglected the course is. All fairways are brown, and the greens are horrible, dandelions were the only thing on the greens that were green. It's a shame that they let this course go.
