That Time of Year
I would give this course a higher rating if the Golf Now people would have told me they had just aerated. Why such a big secret? This course has a great layout, and good variety of holes. I was a bit concerned when my playing partner warned me about the three guys on bikes coming out of the bushes on the 10th hole heading towards us were tweekers and said don't hassle them they might be packing. He even asked me if I had a gun. This course would be better if the water features actually had water in them. I get the state's water rationing, but it's your fault for not voting the idiot out of office, not mine. Most times I come to this course it's in great shape and very fun to play. Just wish the greens would have been better.
Best fairways in the county
Beautiful course. Pace of play was perfect. Fairways and greens were great. Would recommend
A few negative comments...
Great course. Always enjoyed the layout, although a few minor complaints, one major one:
1. Pace a play was a tad long on 10/3, 8:20am tee time. There appeared to be a men's tournament that caused the backup; though no on-course marshal was present trying to speed up the round.
2. Greens - majority of the greens were perfect. Appeared to be patchy areas along the edges.
3. Starter named Marc (major issue) - guy is very rude. In our foursome, there were 3 carts. Me and my buddy in one, and two other carts each with single riders. On the 2nd hole, he came all the way out to our group and told one guy that he needs to share his cart w/ the other single as they were running low on carts. However, the groups in front and behind us (and groups throughout the course), you can see single riders all over the place. I've seen Marc in is his power trip element before, it's not a pleasant situation.
My own oasis
Really don’t want to make this place any more popular for selfish reasons, but this place is always fun to play, easy to walk and a great value to boot.
This course in good shape
The fairways to the greens are in good shape.
Pace of play was good, no waited. Kind staff and easy to talk to...
Always Green
Had my best round today. Fairways and greens were in great shape, as usual. This course could be challenging if you don’t keep your tee shots in the fairway. This is a great course to walk. Their practice facilities are the best around. Love playing this course!
Very Enjoyable Round!
I really liked this track! Playable areas in very good shape...staff was efficient and friendly; nice locals we were paired with. Greens very challenging especially if you're short-sided but if you keep it in the bowls/swales you can really score. A true links-style course. Not too many trees but loved the way they were shaped. Some really cool visuals out there... Will play again next time I'm through the area.
Practice Round
My son had a US Kids Golf event here so we came out to get in a practice round. The course was in great shape and had great pace of play.
I love Olivas Links!
I love everything about it except for the signage between holes. We played w/ a couple who knew the course well which really helped. There are times you have leave the green, cross another tee box to the next tee box, all w/o signage. Otherwise, great round!
