18 holes on a 9 fairway course
This course was different because there were only 9 fairways with 2 different sets of Tees on each. Sharing the fairways caused the tempo of the game to slow down. Other than that, our group really enjoyed the course. There were several challenging holes but for the most part the fairways were open and wide with few hazards to contend with. This is a great course for golfers new to the game.
Expectations exceeded
If you want to experience first class hospitality with paired with a beautifully maintained course, this is the place for you. Kevin and Aaron were delightful, and helpful. The kitchen and bar staff are fantastic, food was delicious. The local golfers were all courteous and more than engaging. I grouped up with locals and had the most enjoyable afternoon. The mixed vegetation, and mature trees surrounding this course made the day even more splendid.
Value is not a strong enough word for this gem of a place...what a great experience.
Nice Friendly 9 hole golf course
Nice 9 hole course. Has some challenging holes. Sand, a couple of ponds well placed. The greens you have to know how to read if you want to score. Play can be slow. The staff are great. Golf and dine on Friday and Saturday. Enjoy
Good Day with friends
It was our first time at the course but we played with a guy who had played it for the first time the day before . It may have been a little confusing without his assistance in going to the correct tee . I did find it scenic and quite enjoyed the afternoon.
not what I expected
It was a 9 hole course with 2 sets of tee boxes so if you played twice around to make it an 18 hole round there was playing changes and challenges. The course was fun to play being in good shape and having small greens good shots were rewarded. Staff were friendly and pleasant to chat with. Food priced well and what I ordered tasty. I did not walk but feel it can be as there are not severe elevation changes. Great day out even though my golf partner cancelled :)
Keep coming back
I was pleasantly surprised with the natural beauty of this course and the overall fun of it. Hole 6 overlooking and along the river is quite pretty and challenging. Overall it is fun to play and the food is excellent along with the friendly staff. Will return.
A Course to Treasure
Excellent test for any player.
Greens a small but receive the ball very well.
Staff is fantastic, willing to help in any way
Just a pleasant course to play
old gem
I love to play any Stanley Thompson golf course. I was lucky to find this great deal for one I have never played before. It only has nine holes however they vary by playing off of two different set of tees. Be sure to play #9 from the left hand side as the green slopes right to left. Also bring a camera for pics of the Grand river on hole #6. This is a great old course I would love to see old pics from its opening
pleasantly surprised
We got a great deal on golfnow on a weekend on a beautiful summer day, so I wasn't expecting anything great. Friendly staff and a well kept course made it worth the drive to the the thriving metropolis of Dunville. All the various tee boxes they used to make a 9 hole course into 18 were confusing, and could have been better marked, but for $11 for 18 holes with a cart, there wasn't much to complain about.
1st time dunnville golfer
Nice little course not that long, but it was in good shape and had some difficult pin placement.
mud pit
It had been raining in the weeks before but most things outside were dried up. Except this course. No one had cut the grass in the fairways, you would lose your ball constantly and we actually got one of the carts stuck it was so muddy. This course was by no means ready to be played on. Also we thought it was an 18 hole course but actually it is 9 holes you play twice. very disappointed
