Always incredibly slow
I’ve played this course a few times this year and although the staff is very friendly, and the pricing is quite affordable, I have never played at a course that has had such consistent slow play. I played behind a foursome that were using golf carts and it took almost 6 HOURS to finish 18 holes... absolutely absurd and completely sucked the fun out of the day. I’ve never been able to finish 18 holes at Duntroon in under 5 hours which
Also, the tee boxes were really chewed up... but that is way less of an issue than the pace of play.
Please please if the Duntroon staff is reading this, making an effort toward monitoring the pace of play would make your golfers so much happier
All putts go towards Georgian Bay - remember that. Lots of elevation changes and fun holes on the front nine. Back nine has some quirky holes that don't seem to fit in. Very fun course to play!
The Jewel of the escarpment
Fun family course. Get to use every club in your bag.
Great panoramic views from the tee shots of the 6th signature 9th hole. Front nine very wide open.
Back nine plays longer and narrower with tougher approach shots. A fun track altogether.
Gorgeous views, challenging elevations
I love this course and play twice a year. Gorgeous views of Georgian Bay from several elevated tees. Challenging but fair with a well cared for course. The back 9 is tougher with a difficult 10 dogleg through a forested area and a long par 5 15 with a blind tee shot. But it’s such a pretty course well worth the 2 hour drive from Toronto. Or better stay in Collingwood/Blue Mountain for a golf weekend.
Lovely views of Georgian Bay and the escarpment make this a stunning hidden gem of a course. Busy on holiday weekends but good value. Conditions are consistent from good to excellent.
Not Too Shabby
My first time playing the course and there are quite a few blind shots and carries from high tee boxes. Tough to gauge. I was by myself, first tee time and played with a cart in around 2hrs.
Worth the money.
Good golf course. Fairways were very hard— lots of roll—greens are very good but slopes led to balls rolling off greens— good but tricky. Staff very friendly.
Not the course it used to be
Very disappointed. While the scenery is beautiful the course played like a parking lot - fairways and greens hard as rock and in dire need of water! The topper was when the kids camp with 5 small kids to a cart (3 carts in total) jumping from fairway to fairway with no consideration given to those playing the hole. Staff was quick to deal with the issue once it was brought to their attention.
Awesome course. Great staff
Loved the course. The views are awesome. Nice staff. Would play here again in a heartbeat.
Very good enjoyable round....weather was great - a little bit windy, hot but not overly humid, pace of play was very good. Cart person came around a couple of times. Fairways were in decent shape with a few wet/soggy areas in the back nine. Some tee boxes were a bit bare and you had to tee off on bare ground. Greens were very fast and pin placement a challenge, making it very easy to roll your putt off the green and hard to stick your approach shot on the green. Overall - quite enjoyable!
Greens like dimples
Lots of blind tee shots , which will get you in trouble, short course , so they make the greens very fast and they are like dimples ball rolls off the green at almost every angle. Most often can’t see where the fairways go so you better play with someone who knows the course
Won’t return to play there again
Challenging but fair course with lots of elevation. Some very challenging holes but not impossible. Beautiful views of Georgian Bay from a couple of tees.
