The rewards are great and Royal Woodbine's beautifully conditioned fairways and greens make this championship course a real pleasure to play. Play it at least 1x/year
Interesting track. If it weren't for the planes overhead you'd never know you were in the city
Missing 17hole
Because the hole 17 was maintained, We were not allowed to hit that hole. While we paid the whole course, Nobody informed us before playing.
Excellent Condition
I. haven't played Royal Woodbine since 2018 and I was pleasantly surprised as to the great condition of the golf course. Tough track with narrow fairways and thick rough...really tests your game...
It’s early though….
No notes on Golfnow for the course being under construction, one hole taken away and replaced by cutting a par 5 in to 2 holes, drainage was poor, and cart path only for $110 on a weekday isn’t ideal…
Course was in decent shape
Saw some rain in the morning which basically made the course a lake of standing water on fairways and in bunkers, but it was expected. Considering it was cart path only the pace of play was fantastic and overall the course looked like it was in decent shape. If you haven’t played this course before being a few extra balls as you’ll probably lose a few in the forests and be ware there is no range to warm up kn. There is a half decent warm up green, hitting nets, but no chipping allowed. Overall feels a bit too pricy for the experience, but a solid course if you just need to get out and play.
Beautiful course layout!
Fairways and greens in good shape.
Bunkers had no sand, just dirt and mud.
No tee blocks in place
Good course. Good value for money. One major annoyance
Played on a Saturday afternoon in late October. Greens had been spiked a week ago. Made for slow putting. Pace of play was poor. Waited to tee off on every hole. 4 groups backed up on18th. Location convenient from downtown Toronto. Surroundings not great: lots of highways and industrial. Some holes were hidden away. Near constant air traffic overhead from Pearson Airport next door. Love the designer. He did Dunderave in PEI and Le Diable at Tremblant, Quebec. This is not one of his masterpieces. But a good golf course at a good price. Equivalent to Don Valley.
Pet peeve: they charge you for a cart whether you use one or not. Boo. Course is easily walkable. Annoying cash grab.
Challenging Track
Targeted course. Game must be carefully managed.
Expensive for comparable courses in GTA.
Great Golf close to city
The course is an easy drive from midtown Toronto. Most other decent public courses are a lot farther. A challenging track that is kept in good shape. Booking process is a pain, especially the requirement to pay the whole fee upfront.
Excellent course Layout
Excellent course layout with a good variety of distance. Smart golf is called for don’t try to over power the course. Only down side that the course has no control over is the constant noise from the Planes landing. Definitely a must try.
