Great day at Baxter Creek
Golf course was in perfect shape, great layout. Staff was very friendly marshals, beverage cart and pro shop staff. Finally a junior friendly golf course, encouraging the future of the game. Drove an hour to play there and we’ll worth it. See you again soon!
Quiet day at Baxter Creek
Played mid week in August 2017. The course was very quiet. We were a twosome and we played in less than 4 hours. Excellent shape, greens were fast and smooth. Fairways in great condition. First time playing this course and I really enjoyed it. Two birdies! Will play this one again.
Fabulous Course To Play
A close friend and I where looking for a course to play about half way between Toronto and Kingston. A very close acquaintance recommended Baxter Creek. The course is extremely impressive from the road on your drive in! The Pro Shop staff where very pleasant and helpful. They presented us with a score card along with a yardage booklet that included some two for one coupons for when we return!
The course itself was well conditioned and the layout was easy to follow along with pleasant on the eyes. The course was a little damp due to recent rains but the greens where fast and true!
The only negative point would be the yardage markers which we felt where wrong in a number of locations. We later learn that the markers are to the front of the green not to the centre. Golfers should be made aware of this before the round begins.
On the food and beverage side, we played on a Thursday afternoon and there was a beverage cart on the course that we saw a minimum of four times. At the Club House we ordered a Canadian Burger which was one of the best I have ever had at any golf course!
THIS IS A COURSE MANY GOLFERS WILL REALLY LIKE! I KNOW THAT WE WILL BE BACK AND BRING SEVERAL MORE PLAYERS WITH US.
Great Course
This is the first time we play this course and we are impressed on the layout and condition.
There are a few forced carries. You have to use most of your clubs to get around the course.
We love it other than the 130km we had to drive to get there.
FUN COURSE
WILL RETURN, COURSE VERY WELL MAINTAINED AND TEES PROVIDE OPPORTUNITY TO SELECT ACCORDING TO SKILL LEVEL.
Amazing course
Great course, it was a nice size for the course. I found I actually had a chance at Birdies and Pars even on the Par 5s which made it more fun for me.
Great deal, fun course!
Play from the blues, par 3's a challenge from there. A little tight on holes 12 - 17! Very well maintained. Pace of play very good until we got to 13, then tightness of holes caused a slow down. Still done in 4 hours. Do not try to cut the corners!!
19th hole a treat too!
Rain put a damper on an otherwise great experience
Variety of elevations. Fairways and greens well maintained. Very personable staff. Gas powered carts without GPS. Not a major negative though. A decent challenge for the average golfer, with back tees providing added difficulty for lower handicappers. We were most pleased to have made the 3/4 hr drive to get to the course.
This course has a great variety of holes and wonderful fairways.
The greens had been top dressed but this did not interfere with either the speed or line of the putts. The electric arts were excellent and the general view of the course is lovely
Great course with interesting holes
I have played this course numerous times having been a previous member for a couple of years. Always enjoyed the challenging par 3's. Front nine is relatively open but one must still keep the ball in play in order to score well. A couple of short par4's on the back but the approach shot still needs to be very accurate. Don't let the openness fool you on this little 18 hole gem.
wide open front 9, back 9 in bush and tighter
Varying degree of challenging holes, lots of water hazards
Good layout and in great shape.
Course was in great shape. Don't need the driver on all the par 4's because placement is the key. Greens are challenging. Got my first ever hole in one on No.4 so that kind of made my day. Pace of play was good for a Sunday.
Close to the highway with no homes on it.
Front nine is more open than the back nine. Has a good variety of holes.
Enjoyed our visit.
Course was in very good condition. The greens are excellent! Staff from Head Pro through course marshal made us feel welcome. Layout contains a good variety of challenges. We'll be back!
Nice track
I've played this course a number of times while up at the family cottage and it never disappoints. Always in great shape and if you tee off early enough you can fly around it. Everyone I've brought up to play it is similarly impressed. A great layout for all levels and holes 12-16 make excellent use of the existing forest from which they were carved. My buddies and I love the 19th and many a beverage has been won or lost on that hole. I also used it to make a friend retire his old irons to Florida but that's another story.
Nice layout, challenging par threes.
Great course, my only gripe is that there isnt a single flat lie anywhere. Too many slopes and hills.
Lots of fun, challenging.
You really have to think your way around this course. You'll use most if not all the clubs in your bag. It's an easy and pleasant walk. The course is in great shape with lots of attention to detail (gardens, paths, etc.) One distinguishing feature is the 19th hole, an island par three, great for final bets or tie breakers.
This course has lots of fescues
You need to hit straight to have a good score and that makes a challenging. I particularly like the undulating greens which adds excitement.
Great course, challenging but playable
Played with another two some and have a great time.
will play again
Great course!
We played this course on a Saturday and it was VERY slow. A shame as it is a great course and tough. Played from the back tees and you had better be sharp. Good fairways and fast greens add up to a really impressive course. We paid $60 p/p with cart, which is a real steal thanks to GolfNow. My suggestion, play mid-week as the pace will surely be better. Worth the drive from Toronto.
